The Job

We have an exciting opportunity within our Private Banking team in the Luxembourg Branch. Due to the current incumbent moving to a new position within the branch, we now have a vacancy within the Investment Services team.

Handelsbanken Luxembourg Branch started its activities in 1978 and is part of Handelsbanken Global Banking. We support the Bank’s customers in the focus markets (mainly Sweden and Norway) with their international business. The Branch core business is Private Banking (Discretionary and Investment Service/ Execution Only services) and mortgage lending in Spain, Portugal and France.

We are looking for an Investment Specialist who will work in the Investment Service (Execution Only) team and who is passionate about building lasting and sustainable business with new and existing clients. This position will report in to the Head of Private Banking.

The main responsibilities will be the following:

-Manage client portfolios and maintain a close, professional dialogue with clients.

-Build and develop long-term client relationships, with a strong focus on client satisfaction, trust and business development.

-Manage and execute client orders with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

-Ensure full adherence to all applicable regulatory requirements, internal policies and procedures.

-Identify opportunities to improve processes, ways of working and the overall client experience.

-Participate in and, where appropriate, take the lead on internal projects and initiatives.

-Work closely with the Mortgage team and other relevant functions to ensure a seamless and comprehensive Private Banking offering.

-Represent the Luxembourg Branch and the Private Banking offering within our focus-market branch network and in external interactions.

-Strengthen collaboration between the Luxembourg Branch, our core markets and other relevant areas of the Bank.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is required to have a broad knowledge and experience of dealing with clients in an efficient and positive manner, and to be fluent in English and Swedish or Norwegian. As a trusted partner, the role will require regular contact and interaction with the branches of Handelsbanken in other countries as well as the ability to interact with clients.

The chosen candidate will meet the following requirements:

-Proven experience of Investment Services in a home market

-A keen interest in learning about all aspects of the Private Banking offering in Luxembourg

-Broad experience of client interaction

-A proven track record of business development

-Basic knowledge of insurance wrappers in an international environment

-Swedsec or equivalent certificate

-Knowledge of the market and products available to our customers

-Strong problem solving and analytical skills

-Desire to support and contribute to the development of the team around them

-Excellent communication skills in English and Swedish/Norwegian

-Organisation skills

-Ability to work both independently and in a team in a multi-cultural environment

-Takes responsibility for own development and on the job learning

This position offers a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the entire Private Banking experience in Handelsbanken from the ground up, as well as develop in an international environment and build-up a strong network of contacts. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to the success of the overall objectives of the Luxembourg Branch through their work.
