Symbotic is seeking for a Co-Op- System Engineer to join our Site Operations team within our Customer Operations organization. Your job will be to support the performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of our robotic material handling system while developing hands-on experience across mechanical, electrical, robotics, and software technologies.

What we do

The Site Operations team leads the day-to-day operation and support of Symbotic's automated material handling systems at customer sites. The team partners closely with onsite customers and cross-functional engineering and support teams to troubleshoot issues, maintain safe operations, improve system performance, and deliver reliable automation solutions.

What you'll do

  • Monitor system health and help troubleshoot advanced operational, mechanical, electrical, robotics, and software-related issues.
  • Shadow experienced System Engineers, learn end-to-end material flow, and progressively support assigned system tickets and site activities.
  • Analyze system alarms, performance metrics, and operational data to identify trends, recurring issues, and improvement opportunities.
  • Document issues clearly, communicate technical concepts to site teams and customers, and partner with engineering and support teams on solutions.
  • Assist with escalations for production-impacting problems and help coordinate follow-up actions through resolution.
  • Own a scoped continuous improvement project that uses site data to address a recurring operational need and measure results.
  • Follow OSHA, Symbotic, and customer safety processes and procedures while working in an active warehouse environment.

What you'll need

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Foundational knowledge of robotics, automation, electromechanical systems, controls, or industrial operations.
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following: PLCs, SQL, Linux, Python, Power BI, Excel, data visualization, or continuous improvement practices.
  • Hands-on interest or experience assembling, operating, testing, or troubleshooting robotics and electromechanical equipment through coursework, projects, clubs, or prior work.
  • Ability to analyze data, organize findings, and translate observations into practical recommendations or actions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical information clearly to different audiences.
  • Curiosity, a bias for action, and willingness to ask questions, learn unfamiliar equipment, and contribute in a fast-paced customer-site environment.

Our Environment

  • Employees must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client locations and company HQ.
  • Employees may be required to use a personal credit card for business travel expenses, which are reimbursed based on the program guidelines. Eligible employees may receive a corporate credit card based on role and travel requirements, but a personal credit card may be needed during onboarding until the corporate card is issued.
  • This role is based onsite at a customer location and requires regular work in an active warehouse environment.
  • Must be able to work at heights of up to 45 feet and within restrictive areas of 24 inches.
  • Must be capable of working in temperatures ranging from 32 to 105 degrees Fahrenheit and standing or walking for up to 8 hours.
  • Frequent ability to safely and efficiently lift items weighing up to 60 pounds and move items weighing up to 80 pounds.
  • Must be capable of occasional or continuous feeling, seeing, hearing, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, balancing, gripping, climbing, crawling, sitting, handling objects, and repetitive movement using both hands and feet.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
