Who we are

With its A.I.-powered robotic technology platform, Symbotic is changing the way consumer goods move through the supply chain. Intelligent software orchestrates advanced robots in a high-density, end-to-end system – reinventing warehouse automation for increased efficiency, speed and flexibility.

What we need

We are looking for a Senior Manager, Electrical Engineering Design, to join our Electrical Engineering – Bot Hardware team. Your job will be to lead and develop the electrical design team responsible for the PCB-based electronics, harnesses, and electrical integration that power and connect Symbotic’s robotic systems.

Symbotic’s vision is automation at large scale, carried by physical AI. It starts in the warehouse, where robots see, decide, and move goods at extraordinary speed and density — and extends to new platforms and applications still taking shape. As that vision grows, so does the challenge: turning intelligence into physical action through the power, sensing, compute, harnesses, and electrical integration that bring Physical AI to life.

We need a relentless problem solver: someone who will not give up, who can motivate a world-class team of brilliant people, and who can hold several priorities at once while keeping that team engaged and focused on the target. The work changes how goods move, starting in the warehouse and extending to what comes next. The person in this role decides whether we have the team that can do it.

You will lead multiple high-priority programs across a growing product portfolio, balancing and resetting priorities as needs evolve while keeping the team engaged and focused on critical program goals. Experience in robotics, automotive, industrial automation, or similarly complex electromechanical products will position you well to lead a team developing hardware that must perform reliably at scale.

What we do

The Electrical Engineering – Bot Hardware team is part of Symbotic’s Hardware Engineering organization and is responsible for developing the electrical hardware that powers and connects our robotic systems. We design PCB-based electronics, harnesses, and electrical interfaces that support power distribution, sensing, compute, communications, and control across our automation platforms.

Our team supports a growing portfolio of robotic products—from warehouse systems operating in the field today to new platforms and applications in development and future architectures. As our product line expands, we evaluate and implement new technologies across sensing, power, compute, communications, and electrical integration, turning them into robust hardware that can be validated, manufactured, and deployed at scale.

We partner closely with mechanical, firmware, test, manufacturing, operations, and functional safety teams to integrate these designs into reliable, manufacturable robotic products and support them from development through production.

What you’ll do

  • Build, lead, and develop a world-class electrical design team, including hiring senior, staff, and principal engineers, developing the people already here, managing performance, and creating an environment where strong engineers can solve challenging technical problems.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership across the electrical product lifecycle, from early concepts and architecture through schematic and PCB design, bring-up, design verification testing (DVT), release, and production.
  • Lead the electrical design and integration of PCBAs, cables, harnesses, and related interfaces supporting power, sensing, compute, communications, and control within Symbotic’s robotic platforms.
  • Drive multiple complex programs simultaneously, setting and resetting priorities as needs evolve while keeping a high-performing team engaged, focused, and moving toward critical program goals.
  • Drive the adoption and implementation of new technologies across electrical design, helping the team turn new capabilities into proven hardware that can be manufactured and deployed in production.
  • Review schematics and PCB layouts in Altium and provide technical direction across power integrity, signal integrity, manufacturability, testability, reliability, cost, and overall system integration.
  • Partner with mechanical, firmware, test, manufacturing, operations, functional safety, and contract manufacturing teams to move electrical hardware through Symbotic’s product development process and into production, with approximately 10–15% travel based on program needs.

What you’ll need

  • 15+ years of experience and bachelor’s degree or greater in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
  • Demonstrated people-management experience, including hiring, performance management, workload planning, and developing senior-level electrical engineers and technical leaders.
  • Strong hands-on electrical engineering background with experience designing and reviewing PCBAs, cables, harnesses, and system-level electrical integration for robotics, industrial automation, automotive, or similarly complex electromechanical products.
  • Expertise with Altium for schematic capture and PCB layout, with strong knowledge of power integrity and signal integrity.
  • Hands-on experience with design verification testing (DVT) and taking electrical hardware from design and prototype through verification, release, and production.
  • Experience developing hardware within a structured product development or phase-gate process and working with contract manufacturers and cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Working knowledge of design for manufacturability, testability and reliability, engineering change and PLM processes, with familiarity in EMC and functional safety principles.

Our environment

  • Up to 10% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
  • Employees may be required to use a personal credit card for business travel expenses, which are reimbursed based on the program guidelines. Eligible employees may receive a corporate credit card based on role and travel requirements, but a personal credit card may be needed during onboarding until the corporate card is issued.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
