About the TeamÂ

Global Sales Operations is part of Global Sales Management (GSM), which also includes Client Skills, the Global Sales Experience Team (GSET), Global Sales Analytics and Insights (GSAI), and GSM Business Management. Sales Operations translates sales priorities into consistent, scalable execution. Working across GSM and with other key partners including Marketing, Product, and Technology, the group strengthens sales processes, operating rhythms, governance, tools, and capabilities.Â

Â

This position reports to Global Head of Sales Operations, supports the Retirement Plan Services (RPS) and US Intermediaries (USI) Retirement segments, and operates within the broader Global Sales Operations model.Â

Â

Role Summary

The Sales Operations Segment Lead serves as a day-to-day Sales Operations partner for the RPS and USI Retirement segments. The role combines business partnership, enablement of in-year sales planning, and execution leadership to translate segment priorities into clear GSM capability needs, operating rhythms, and measurable outcomes. As lead of the RPS and USI Retirement GSM pod, the role connects the segments with the wider GSM organization.Â

Â

You will lead segment-aligned GSM initiatives and the GSM contribution to complex sales execution priorities across functions, stakeholder groups, processes, tools, and business segments. This includes providing informed recommendations to leadership, challenging and refining incoming demand, and ensuring agreed GSM and segment priorities are executed effectively and with discipline.

Â

The role will also partner with segment teams to align business needs with global sales frameworks and capabilities, apply scalable best practices while allowing for segment-specific requirements, identify opportunities for shared solutions, and drive improvements in sales execution effectiveness and scalability.

Â

Responsibilities

Segment Partnership and Business Alignment:

  • Serve as a primary day-to-day Sales Operations partner to senior leaders across the RPS and USI Retirement segments.Â
  • Develop a strong understanding of segment strategies, distribution models, growth priorities, sales practices, leadership agendas, and operating context.Â
  • Assess business priorities to identify GSM implications, capability requirements, trade-offs, and recommended next steps.Â
  • Bring a clear point of view to leadership discussions by clarifying objectives, identifying gaps, and recommending practical paths forward.Â
  • Contribute business context and recommendations to prioritization and sequencing decisions, escalating material cross-segment, resource, or global-standard trade-offs as appropriate.Â
  • Distinguish between needs that can be met through existing GSM capabilities and those that may require broader capability development.Â

Â

Sales Execution and Operating Rhythm:

  • Lead the segment application of sales execution rhythms, governance, sales process standards, coverage and territory practices, and other core GSM capabilities.Â
  • Establish sustainable recurring GSM routines that create clear ownership, consistent follow-through, and appropriate senior-leader participation.Â
  • Lead segment-aligned GSM initiatives and the GSM contribution to RPS and USI Retirement segment initiatives, coordinating cross-functional working groups where appropriate.Â
  • Turn agreed priorities into execution plans with clear GSM owners, milestones, measures, dependencies, and risks, and help segment leaders identify the business decisions and ownership required.Â
  • Evaluate incoming requests by connecting them to a defined business outcome, the relevant capability, and the appropriate intake or governance process.Â
  • Assess the operating-model, data, enablement, technology, and change implications of business needs rather than treating each request as an isolated delivery item.Â
  • Reduce reactive work and recurring one-off solutions by establishing clearer standards and repeatable operating practices.Â

Â

Cross-Functional Coordination and Partnership:

  • Lead the RPS and USI Retirement GSM pod, ensuring connectivity between the segments and the wider GSM organization.Â
  • Build shared context across GSM, and with other key partners including Marketing, Product, and Technology.Â
  • Coordinate GSM delivery across functions, clarify handoffs, and connect accountable capability and execution leaders directly with the business.Â
  • Surface dependencies, recurring patterns, capacity constraints, and risks early enough to support deliberate prioritization and sequencing.Â
  • Support consistent intake, triage, portfolio visibility, governance, and decision-rights practices across the segments.Â
  • Partner with contributors across GSM and other functions supporting segment outcomes to align priorities, quality, and follow-through.Â
  • Share business context, knowledge, and effective practices with colleagues to strengthen Sales Operations capability across the team.Â

Â

Global Capability Development:

  • Bring segment evidence, recurring needs, and operating insights into GSM capability roadmaps, including the Global Sales Operations center of excellence.Â
  • Identify recurring patterns that may benefit from global practices, reusable solutions, or improvements to existing capabilities.Â
  • Apply global frameworks with defined segment flexibility and challenge unnecessary bespoke processes, reports, templates, and workarounds.Â
  • Partner with GSM process and capability owners to improve standards, playbooks, governance, measures, and capability health.Â
  • Use data, stakeholder feedback, and process-health indicators to identify opportunities for improvement, innovation, automation, and a stronger seller experience, in partnership with GSET.Â
  • Establish feedback loops, adoption measures, performance reporting, and scalable practices that can be reused across segments or regions.Â
  • Contribute to communities of practice and transfer effective methods across teams.Â

Â

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.Â
  • 8 or more years of total relevant work experience.Â
  • Experience leading complex sales execution, commercial operations, or related cross-functional programs.Â
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate business priorities with process ownership, analytics, technology, enablement, change, and governance considerations.Â
  • Clear written and verbal communication, active listening, storytelling, and stakeholder-management skills.Â
  • Ability to work through ambiguity while maintaining transparency, accountability, disciplined execution, and follow-through.
  • Proven ability to influence, build alignment, and drive outcomes across teams without formal authority.Â

Â

Preferred:Â

  • Experience in retirement plan services, intermediary or wholesale distribution, asset management, financial services, or another complex, relationship-driven distribution environment.Â
  • Demonstrated success partnering with senior sales or business leaders and translating strategy into operating priorities and disciplined execution.Â
  • Experience across several Sales Operations disciplines, such as planning and forecasting, business reviews, performance rhythms, pipeline and account planning, coverage and territory design, or go-to-market planning.Â
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional work involving business, analytics, enablement, marketing, product, technology, and operational partners.Â
  • Strong judgment in prioritization, sequencing, governance, and trade-off management, including the ability to challenge incoming demand constructively.Â

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
