At Taher, it really is all about the food! And in our Corporate Office, that is no different!
Taher, Inc. is looking for a talented, creative, and organized chef to lead the daily food program at our corporate office.
As a foodservice management company, we believe great food and hospitality should start within our own walls. Our corporate office has a beautiful, well-equipped kitchen and a large dining area that provides a great setting for fresh, thoughtfully prepared meals.
This chef will be responsible for preparing breakfast and lunch for approximately 25 employees each day, maintaining a well-stocked pantry, and managing the daily operations of the kitchen. We are not looking to create a traditional cafeteria. Our goal is to offer a welcoming dining experience built around quality ingredients, seasonal menus, scratch cooking, and a genuine appreciation for good food.
The chef will have creative freedom and ownership of the kitchen while also having access to the support, knowledge, and experience of Taher's larger team of professional chefs. We are looking for someone who takes just as much pride in preparing a great everyday breakfast as they do in creating a memorable dinner for guests.
Key Responsibilities — Daily Breakfast & Lunch
· Plan and prepare breakfast and lunch for approximately 25 employees each weekday.
· Create rotating menus using fresh, seasonal, and high-quality ingredients.
· Prepare breakfast options that are light but filling, providing energy for the workday.
· Serve balanced, flavorful lunches that are satisfying without being overly heavy.
· Focus on scratch cooking, proper techniques, and thoughtful presentation.
· Keep menus interesting while maintaining consistency and efficiency.
· Accommodate dietary needs and preferences when possible.
· Manage daily preparation to ensure meals are ready on time.
· Make good use of ingredients and leftovers to reduce food waste.
Pantry & Scratch Preparation
· Build and maintain a well-stocked pantry of high-quality ingredients and kitchen staples.
· Prepare house-made stocks, broths, soups, sauces, dressings, and condiments.
· Develop systems for batch cooking, portioning, labeling, freezing, and proper storage.
· Use traditional techniques such as pickling, fermentation, and safe food preservation when appropriate.
· Maintain a selection of prepared items to support daily meals and efficient kitchen operations.
· Take advantage of seasonal ingredients and opportunities to make items from scratch.
Purchasing, Inventory & Kitchen Management
· Manage food ordering, purchasing, receiving, and inventory.
· Work with approved vendors and specialty suppliers to source quality ingredients.
· Maintain proper inventory levels and organized storage areas.
· Monitor food costs and work within an established budget.
· Reduce waste through good planning and ingredient use.
· Keep purchasing and inventory records accurate and up to date.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and well-functioning kitchen.
· Follow all company food safety and sanitation standards.
Culinary Collaboration & Support
One of the benefits of this position is being part of Taher's larger culinary team.
While the chef will manage the corporate kitchen independently, they will have access to other experienced chefs throughout the company for ideas, support, and collaboration.
· Work with fellow Taher chefs on menus, cooking techniques, and new ideas.
· Use company culinary resources for special projects and events.
· Share knowledge and participate in opportunities to learn from other chefs.
· Coordinate additional help when needed for larger events or special projects.
· Work with culinary leadership to arrange coverage during vacations or planned absences.
· Help build a positive, collaborative culinary culture within the company.
Corporate Hospitality & Special Events
The corporate kitchen is also a place to welcome clients, business partners, and guests.
· Help plan and prepare occasional weekday evening dinners and special events.
· Create menus suited to the occasion, from relaxed family-style meals to more formal plated dinners.
· Provide quality food, thoughtful presentation, and a welcoming atmosphere.
· Work with other Taher chefs when additional support is needed.
· Be flexible with scheduling for planned evening events.
