The posting

Who We Are:

Taiv is a fast-growing tech startup located in Winnipeg, Canada. Taiv uses AI to make business TV more fun, engaging, profitable, and easier to manage, starting with bars and restaurants. We’ve built proprietary tech that uses computer vision to watch live TV and improve the content with contextually-aware commercials, content, and games. Our tech also automates the manual AV tasks that venues have to do every day, to make bar management easier, standardized, and more profitable. We’re venture-capital backed and graduated from Y Combinator, the world’s top tech accelerator, in winter 2020. Program alumni include Airbnb, Instacart, DoorDash, etc. (www.ycombinator.com/topcompanies).

We are looking for a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our growing team!

What We’re Looking For:

Taiv is growing, and the people we hire decide how well that growth goes. We’re adding people across sales, operations, marketing, and engineering in Winnipeg and our U.S. markets. We need someone whose full-time job is running that process as best as possible.

We’re looking for an experienced recruiter who has run the full hiring cycle many times, from first intake through to a signed offer, and who still enjoys doing the day-to-day work themselves. You’ll do the hands-on hiring work on every open role at Taiv. That means reviewing applications, running screener calls, coordinating interviews, and building our presence at campus and community events so good candidates know who we are before a role opens. You’ll work closely with hiring managers on every team, and be responsible for helping them achieve their hiring goals.

Because we’re a startup, this role comes with real ownership. There’s no large recruiting team or rigid playbook to follow. You’ll have the chance to shape how Taiv hires, bring in the best practices you’ve seen work elsewhere, and build processes that carry us through our next stage of growth. The impact you make will be visible across the whole company, and you’ll be able to point to it directly.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Own the top of the funnel. Review every application that comes in through our ATS and move candidates forward or out quickly. No role sits with a pile of unread resumes.
  • Run the first interview stage. You’ll be the first real conversation a candidate has with Taiv. You’ll figure out who can do the job and how well they’ll fit into our culture. Then you’ll hand hiring managers a shortlist they can trust, with notes tied to what the role needs.
  • Keep interviews moving. Schedule interviews, provide feedback, and keep hiring managers and candidates on the same timeline so every applicant is treated well.
  • Go find people. Source candidates directly through LinkedIn, Indeed, referrals, and creative outreach methods, instead of exclusively waiting on inbound.
  • Own the pipeline. Establish and maintain a pipeline of candidates across every function of the business for open and future roles.
  • Build Taiv’s hiring presence. Plan and attend campus career fairs, local tech and community events, and referral pushes. The goal is warm candidates for recurring roles before those roles open.
  • Track what’s working. Keep our ATS data clean, own the hiring metrics tracker, and send regular pipeline updates on conversion, time in stage, and where hires come from. If something is stuck, you’ll know why and how to solve it.
  • Improve how we hire. Bring what’s worked for you in past roles to tighten how we run intakes, structure interviews, and evaluate candidates.

Who You Are:

  • You’ve done this before. You’ve run hiring processes from start to finish, and you still like rolling up your sleeves on the day-to-day.
  • You have good judgment about people. You can tell the difference between someone who sounds good and someone who has actually done the work.
  • You’re proactive. You don’t wait for things to come to you, whether that’s candidates or the next step in a process.
  • You’re highly organized. You keep a lot of moving pieces on track at once without anything slipping.
  • You’re comfortable working with people more senior than you. You speak up, share your view, and communicate effectively.
  • You’re personable and a clear communicator. People feel comfortable talking to you, and colleagues always know where things stand.
  • You’re always looking for a better way to do things. You notice what isn’t working and use AI tools like Claude and ChatGPT to make processes faster and more efficient.

Your Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, in-house or agency, including owning searches from intake through offer
  • Experience hiring for several functions at once (sales, operations, technical, etc.)
  • Comfortable owning an applicant tracking system
  • Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter and direct sourcing
  • Experience running campus recruiting, career fairs, or hiring events is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Startup or high-growth company experience is a plus
  • Experience using AI platforms (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.) to improve workflow is a plus

Perks:

  • Employee stock options
  • 100% employer-covered health benefits
  • Flex-time & unlimited paid vacation
  • Gym membership
  • Catered lunches 3x per week
  • Dog-friendly office
  • Hybrid work model
  • Free parking on-site

Job Details:

  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 per year + stock options
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Ability to commute: can reliably commute to the office (required)

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
