Role Overview

Our confidential client is seeking a Sales Representative - Ready-Mix Concrete to drive profitable sales growth across contractors, developers, consultants, and project owners within the assigned market. The role is responsible for identifying project opportunities early, converting inquiries into confirmed concrete supply orders, and coordinating closely with plant, dispatch, quality, and finance teams to ensure commercially sound and operationally feasible order execution.

The Sales Representative will report directly to the General Manager and will play a key role in expanding the customer base, protecting price and margin quality, strengthening customer retention, and improving project coverage across active and upcoming construction works. The role requires strong field presence, disciplined follow-up, and practical understanding of ready-mix concrete supply, pour planning, delivery coordination, and project-based selling dynamics.

Key Responsibilities

You will lead front-line commercial development across the assigned territory and support reliable conversion of project demand into repeatable, profitable ready-mix concrete business.

- Market Development & Project Capture: Identify and pursue new sales opportunities across contractors, subcontractors, developers, consultants, and project owners; map active and upcoming projects; build early access to demand before pour schedules are finalized.

- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong working relationships with key accounts, procurement teams, project managers, site teams, and consultant stakeholders to improve customer access, retention, and repeat-order potential.

- Quotation & Commercial Follow-up: Prepare and follow up quotations in line with approved pricing strategy, payment terms, site requirements, delivery feasibility, and target margin expectations; support negotiations while maintaining pricing discipline.

- Territory Coverage & Site Visits: Conduct regular visits to customer offices, project sites, consultant teams, and construction stakeholders to generate inquiries, strengthen pipeline quality, and improve market visibility.

- Order Coordination & Pour Planning: Coordinate with dispatch, plant operations, pumping, and logistics teams on pour schedules, quantity requirements, delivery sequencing, site access, and special instructions to ensure accurate and executable commitments.

- Product & Specification Support: Liaise with quality control and technical teams on customer inquiries related to concrete grades, workability, test expectations, and specification-related requirements, while ensuring communication remains commercially accurate and operationally aligned.

- Forecasting & Pipeline Management: Maintain clear visibility over active opportunities, quotations, likely awards, and monthly volume expectations; update CRM records and provide timely forecasts to support plant planning and management reporting.

- Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor pricing, plant locations, service reputation, contractor movement, and project pipeline changes; provide actionable insights to management to support commercial decision-making.

- Collections Support & Credit Discipline: Work closely with finance and credit control to follow up overdue balances, support collections discussions, and ensure order release is aligned with approved credit terms and risk controls.

- Complaint Handling & Service Recovery: Manage customer complaints related to delays, order errors, rejected loads, delivery issues, and service gaps; coordinate with internal teams on investigation, corrective action, and customer communication.

- Operational Alignment: Maintain strong day-to-day coordination with plant, dispatch, quality, and customer service teams to support smooth order execution and reduce commercial or service breakdowns.

- Ethics, Safety & Professional Conduct: Represent the company professionally at all times; comply with site safety requirements, customer protocols, and ethical commercial practices in all field and customer-facing activities.

Qualifications

- 3+ years of experience in ready-mix concrete sales or closely related construction materials sales.

- Proven track record in dealing with contractors, developers, consultants, procurement teams, and project stakeholders.

- Good understanding of ready-mix concrete products, common concrete grades, site pouring practices, delivery coordination requirements, and project-based selling dynamics.

- Experience preparing quotations, following up commercial offers, and managing customer relationships in a competitive field-sales environment.

- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance volume growth, customer responsiveness, and margin protection.

- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, or another relevant field.

- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively across the assigned territory.

- Strong communication skills, resilience, follow-up discipline, and ability to work closely with both customers and internal operational teams.

Preferred / Nice-to-have

- Direct experience within a ready-mix concrete manufacturing company.

- Familiarity with batching plant operations, dispatch coordination, pumping logistics, and site-ordering workflows.

- Exposure to local concrete standards, consultant approval processes, and project submittal environments.

- Experience using CRM systems, ERP tools, quotation trackers, or structured sales reporting platforms.

- Commercial or technical training related to construction materials, sales negotiation, or concrete products.

Success Metrics

- Monthly and quarterly sales volume targets are achieved with acceptable margin quality.

- New customers and project accounts are added and converted into active revenue-generating business.

- Quotations are followed up consistently and converted into confirmed orders at an improving rate.

- Forecasts, CRM records, and account activity reporting are maintained accurately and on time.

- Customer complaints are handled effectively, with improved responsiveness and stronger retention across assigned accounts.

- Coordination with plant, dispatch, and quality teams supports better order accuracy and more reliable delivery execution.

- Overdue balances across assigned accounts are monitored and collections support contributes to lower commercial exposure.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
