Senior Network Security & Automation Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Security & Automation Engineer to join a dynamic technology environment, where you will play an important role in managing IT infrastructure, strengthening network security and introducing smarter ways to improve business operations.

This position offers an opportunity to work across different areas of IT, combining infrastructure management, cybersecurity, programming and system integration. You will be involved in both day-to-day technical operations and improvement projects that enhance the organisation's overall IT capabilities.

What You'll Be Doing

IT Development & Automation

  • Develop and enhance customised applications, scripts and internal IT solutions to improve operational efficiency.
  • Use programming languages such as C#, VB.NET, Python, PowerShell and JavaScript to support system improvements and automate repetitive tasks.
  • Work on system integrations and data exchange between business applications, databases and cloud-based platforms.
  • Explore opportunities to simplify existing processes through scripting, API connectivity and workflow automation.
  • Support the development and maintenance of internal technical tools and applications.

Network & Infrastructure Security

  • Oversee the stability, performance and security of enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Manage network security equipment and technologies, including firewalls, VPN connectivity, wireless networks and SD-WAN solutions.
  • Implement and maintain network access controls, authentication mechanisms and secure connectivity policies.
  • Support network configuration, segmentation, troubleshooting and security enhancement initiatives.
  • Perform security reviews, identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate preventive measures.
  • Work with endpoint protection and data security solutions to maintain a secure IT environment.

Systems Management & Technical Improvements

  • Support user identity management, access permissions and directory services across the organisation.
  • Develop technical solutions to improve system monitoring, security checks and compliance-related processes.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to identify areas for IT improvement and implement suitable solutions.
  • Maintain technical documentation, system configurations and development records.
  • Participate in infrastructure enhancement, security and automation projects.

What We're Looking For

  • Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure, network engineering, cybersecurity or software automation.
  • Strong hands-on programming experience with C#, VB.NET, Python, PowerShell and/or JavaScript.
  • Experience developing scripts, working with APIs and integrating different enterprise systems.
  • Good understanding of SQL databases, REST APIs, JSON/XML and web-based technologies.
  • Familiarity with enterprise networking technologies, including firewalls, routing, switching, VLAN, VPN and SD-WAN.
  • Experience with network security solutions such as Fortinet, Sangfor, Cisco or HPE Aruba will be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, network access control and endpoint security.
  • Exposure to Git, Docker, CI/CD or other software development and deployment tools is an advantage.
  • Independent, analytical and resourceful, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues and deliver practical solutions.
