We are partnering with an internationally successful Swiss high-tech company looking for a Manufacturing IT/OT Systems Architect to play a key role in the evolution of its industrial technology landscape.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, understands how modern manufacturing environments operate and wants to influence how production technologies are designed, connected and developed.
You will work in an environment where advanced engineering meets software, automation and digital innovation, with the freedom to challenge existing approaches, introduce new ideas and turn technical vision into practical improvements.
What You will Be Doing
You will work across manufacturing technology, software and enterprise IT, helping create a more connected, scalable and future-ready production environment.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Modern Manufacturing Architecture: Develop architectural solutions that support increasingly digitalized and interconnected production environments.
- Connecting IT & OT: Bring together industrial automation, manufacturing applications and enterprise platforms to enable reliable communication and information exchange.
- MES & ERP Integration: Help establish effective integration between manufacturing execution systems, business applications and production technologies.
- Systems & Data Architecture: Analyse complex technology environments, understand how information moves between applications and identify opportunities to simplify integration.
- Technology Evolution: Contribute to the modernization of existing manufacturing systems, improving scalability, maintainability and long-term performance.
- Technical Problem-Solving: Investigate architectural limitations and develop practical solutions that balance technical requirements with operational realities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with specialists from manufacturing, automation, software engineering, IT and R&D to deliver integrated technology solutions.
What We are Looking For
We are interested in experienced engineers and architects who understand both the technical complexity of industrial environments and the importance of building systems that work reliably in production.
Ideally, you will bring:
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Automation, Electrical Engineering or a comparable technical field.
- Experience working with industrial manufacturing systems, production technologies or manufacturing software environments.
- A good understanding of IT/OT integration, industrial automation and the interaction between manufacturing and enterprise systems.
- Knowledge of MES, ERP and industrial system interfaces, including how different applications exchange information.
- Experience analysing, designing or documenting complex software and systems architectures.
- The ability to understand technical details while maintaining a clear view of the wider systems landscape.
- Strong analytical thinking, practical problem-solving skills and the confidence to challenge existing technical approaches.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with different engineering and business teams.
Particularly interesting backgrounds include:
Manufacturing IT Architecture, OT Systems Architecture, Industrial Software Engineering, MES Integration, Systems Engineering or Industrial Digitalization.
You don't need to have followed a traditional architecture career path. We're equally interested in technically strong engineers who have developed a broad understanding of manufacturing systems and are ready to take greater architectural responsibility.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
You will be joining an established Swiss technology business with a strong international presence, a reputation for engineering excellence and a culture that encourages innovation, technical curiosity and individual responsibility.
Here is what makes the opportunity particularly attractive:
- High-Impact Position: Influence important architectural decisions and contribute directly to the future development of advanced manufacturing technologies.
- Stability Meets Innovation: Enjoy the security of an established international technology company while working in an agile, entrepreneurial engineering environment.
- Interesting Technical Challenges: Work with sophisticated production technologies and complex systems where your expertise can make a tangible difference.
