About AndrenaM

AndrenaM is building the central nervous system for maritime autonomy by creating a distributed sensing and communication network. Our platform integrates sensors, autonomous vehicles, and AI-driven analytics to provide real-time situational awareness and defense capabilities. Our technology supports critical maritime defense operations for the U.S. Navy and NATO, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in maritime autonomy.

Job Summary

AndrenaM is seeking a Head of Navy Business to lead our growth and customer engagement strategy across the U.S. Navy and related maritime defense organizations. In this high-impact role, you’ll be responsible for building strategic relationships, shaping programs, and driving business development activities that translate cutting-edge technology into deployed maritime capabilities.

This role is ideal for a mission-driven leader with a proven track record navigating Navy acquisition pathways, engaging across commands, and building pipeline opportunities from concept through contract.

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute the Navy business development strategy for AndrenaM
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue programs and solicitations across NAVSEA, ONR, NAVAIR, NIWC, and other maritime-focused organizations
  • Build strong relationships with Navy program offices, technical leads, and decision-makers across the surface, undersea, and autonomous systems domains
  • Shape pre-RFP opportunities and influence early-stage requirements development
  • Lead capture efforts and contribute to proposals, white papers, and customer briefings
  • Represent AndrenaM at Navy trade shows, industry days, and technology demonstrations
  • Collaborate with the Head of Growth and executive team to align customer engagement with product and engineering roadmaps
  • Track Navy priorities, budget trends, and acquisition cycles to ensure long-term positioning
  • Mentor and support growth team members and help build a scalable BD function

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in defense business development, capture management, or Navy program engagement
  • Deep knowledge of Navy acquisition structures, procurement cycles, and relevant tech transition pathways (SBIR, OTA, BAAs, etc.)
  • Strong relationships across Navy labs, PEOs, and operational communities
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Familiarity with maritime systems (e.g., USVs, UUVs, ISR, MCM, undersea warfare)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional capture efforts from identification to award
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain or maintain a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience at a venture-backed defense startup or dual-use technology company
  • Familiarity with autonomy, C2 systems, or distributed sensing networks
  • Prior military service, especially Navy or maritime domains
  • Experience working with primes, FFRDCs, or Navy SBIR transition partners
  • Knowledge of international naval markets or coalition partner procurement

Why Join Us?

  • Competitive salary: $165,000 – $190,000 USD
  • Generous equity incentive package with long-term upside
  • Negotiable profit-sharing based on mission outcomes and program wins
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Flexible PTO and holidays
  • Daily lunch and snacks in office
  • Unique opportunity to influence next-generation defense technology in a fast-moving startup

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
