The posting

Are you the kind of person who notices what others overlook? Do you need to understand the whole picture before you trust a solution? And do you get energy from learning new things while keeping an eye on the details?

Then read on!

For Relewise, we are looking for a sharp, hands-on engineer to help evolve Relewise's core platform. We are looking for someone with sound engineering judgment, system-wide understanding, and the ability to assess complex designs and implementations, including AI-generated work.

Hours: Full-time

Start date: As soon as we have found the right candidate

Location: Aarhus (or hybrid)

If you recognise yourself in this, you're the one we're looking for!

  • You have a "no-bullshit" filter that errors rarely slip through. You notice what others overlook, and you dare to challenge when your critical sense catches something that doesn't make sense.
  • You need to see the common thread before you act. You spot when things don't add up, and you want to understand the full context so you're not guessing.
  • You value structure and deliver high-quality work. You are thorough, see your tasks through to the end, and make sure details are not forgotten on your watch.
  • You're quick to learn new things and get to grips with new areas. At the same time, you dig to the bottom of things because you value thoroughness and precision.
  • You always have a good overview, and you find it easy to work on even complex projects. You know where things stand, and you prioritise ruthlessly how your time is best spent.
  • You get energy from solving problems, because challenges are fun and exciting to you. You're not afraid to take something apart to see what it is and what it can do, and you often think "what if".

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Design and deliver features across the core search and recommendation engine, directing groups of coding agents as your own development team.
  • Review code, both human-written and AI-generated, and, once sufficiently familiar with the platform, join the small group of "Last Defense" reviewers who determine whether changes are ready for production.
  • Improve performance, scalability and resilience using profiling and production evidence.
  • Own your changes through deployment and maintenance. When incidents occur, you investigate them systematically to find the root cause, ensuring we learn from the history and prevent similar issues in the future.
  • Work closely with the Lead Engineer and CTO on design and the technical roadmap, and improve shared tooling, documentation and AI workflows.

What we expect from you:

  • You have deep practical production experience with C# and .NET.
  • You have experience with software architecture and domain modelling, and you apply SOLID, KISS and YAGNI pragmatically.
  • You have owned and evolved a mature production backend with high throughput and low latency, and you remain close to the code.
  • You have already or are more than ready to embrace AI throughout the development process, and you explain your decisions clearly to the team.
  • You speak and write English fluently. Danish is a plus.

We'd be over the moon if you also have experience with:

  • Search, recommendation systems and/or e-commerce.
  • Azure, CI/CD and Windows Server/IIS.
  • Domain-Driven Design. Clear modelling and sound reasoning matter more than terminology.

About Relewise and the team culture

Founded in 2020, Relewise is a headless personalisation and search platform serving more than 100 million requests daily, primarily for mid- to high-end e-commerce businesses in Denmark and Europe.

Our core platform was built from the ground up, including our own search technology, recommendation and personalisation algorithms, and proprietary event-sourced datastore. We control the complete pipeline, and scalability, exceptionally high performance and a low tolerance for errors shape our engineering decisions.

We are a small, close-knit team of senior engineers with substantial autonomy and clear alignment. We keep process overhead to a minimum by avoiding pointless meetings, but we value clear agreements, documentation, and a structured workflow so everyone knows where they stand.

You'll have daily technical partnership with our Lead Engineer and CTO, and every Friday we meet to discuss progress and lessons learned. The culture is informal and supportive; everyone's professional opinions are welcome, and we discuss lessons learned and improvements openly, turning mistakes into valuable insights for the whole team.

What we offer

  • A role where you help set the standard for quality in a platform that reaches consumers across Europe.
  • The opportunity to develop your skills in AI-first development alongside a highly skilled team.
  • A work environment where we strive to understand you, so we can set you up for success in terms of tasks, leadership style and team culture.
  • A competitive salary package with a warrant programme, pension, health insurance and paid vacation.

Talent profiling in the recruitment process

We use talent profiles in our recruitment process, so you will receive a link to the profile along the way.

It's not about giving right or wrong answers, but about whether your natural behaviour and strengths match the context you'll be working in here with us.

Do you recognise yourself in this job posting? Then we look forward to hearing from you!

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once per CV, from $25. Every application goes out with its own CV, written for that posting.
