WHO WE ARE

We’re Talking Rain Beverage Company, we create better-for-you beverages featuring great flavors and colors from natural sources. We live life in full flavor and believe the world should too. We create connections with every sip of our iconic Sparkling Ice, Sparkling Ice Caffeine, Sparkling Ice Energy, and Popwell.

In this role, you will help build a new direct-to-consumer capability that gives consumers a first taste of what’s next across our priority brands. You will launch and scale the commercial, operational, and technology foundation for DTC, including Shopify platform management, site experience, fulfillment and 3PL performance, retention, innovation testing, consumer learning, and financial performance.

You'll be a hands-on ecommerce builder who can connect strategy with execution. You will use commercial judgment, operational discipline, data, and cross-functional leadership to turn an emerging capability into a scalable, insight-driven, and financially sustainable business.

Reports to: Director of Digital Commerce

Direct Reports: N/A

Location: Hybrid at our Preston, WA office 3+ days a week

*While we strive to offer flexibility, this role also requires it. There may be times when you're expected to come onsite outside your typical in-office days to support special projects, team events, or other business needs.

Annual Bonus Potential: 8% - Eligibility is based on the company hitting annual financial targets.

Base Salary: $105,000 - $140,000 (depending on experience)

Note: New hires typically receive between minimum and midpoint, however, we may go slightly higher based on experience, internal equity and market.

  • Lead the strategy and day-to-day management of DTC and owned websites across priority brands, including product catalog management, site merchandising, consumer experience, and commercial performance.
  • Define and continuously refine the DTC value proposition, including assortment, pricing, bundles, exclusive offerings, subscriptions, and limited-release innovation.
  • Own DTC business performance, including net revenue, gross margin, contribution margin, promotional effectiveness, fulfillment costs, forecasting, and budget management.
  • Lead the launch and ongoing management of the Shopify platform, coordinating business requirements, testing, integrations, agency partners, launch readiness, issue resolution, and post-launch optimization.
  • Own the end-to-end DTC customer experience, from product discovery and checkout through fulfillment, customer support, returns, and repeat purchase.
  • Optimize site navigation, product pages, merchandising, checkout, and conversion through ongoing analysis, consumer insights, and structured testing.
  • Partner with Supply Chain and manage the day-to-day relationship with the 3PL to support inventory availability, order accuracy, on-time shipping, cost management, service-level performance, and issue resolution.
  • Partner with Innovation, Brand, and Insights teams to launch limited-release products, capture consumer feedback, evaluate demand signals, and translate results into recommendations for broader commercialization.
  • Own DTC email and SMS programs and partner with Brand, Media, and agency teams on paid media, social, influencer, and other traffic-generation initiatives.
  • Build retention through tailored consumer journeys, loyalty programs, subscriptions, and other strategies that increase repeat purchase and customer lifetime value.
  • Establish scalable DTC processes, reporting, governance, and operating routines that support disciplined, long-term growth.
  • Track key commercial, operational, and customer metrics and translate performance data into clear insights, recommendations, and actions for business leaders and cross-functional partners.

We create connections with every sip. And we’ve found a lot of value in in-person connections! As a young, fast-growing company, we’re still creating and refining the systems that will fuel our future growth. Onsite presence is beyond collaboration, and here is why onsite presence matters:

  • Accelerates process building - Being onsite lets teams test, adjust, and lock in new processes in real time, partnering closely with brand, creative, insights, commercial teams and supply chain to ensure they are efficient and scalable.
  • Speeds decision-making – Having the right people in the same room means questions get answered and roadblocks get cleared instantly, which is critical when building for scale and aligning priorities across brand, creative, insights, and supply chain departments.
  • Strengthens cross-functional execution – Many of our initiatives cut across departments. Onsite presence ensures brand, creative, insights, and supply chain teams, along with others, ensures the right voices are at the table at the right time to align on next steps.
  • Drive Innovation through Proximity – Face-to-face sparks those "aha" moments that fuel better solutions, especially when collaborating with Rain Makers in innovation, commercial teams, and brand departments in a rapidly evolving business environment.
  • Enables richer, faster feedback loops – Real-time observation and discussion with Rain Makers across departments help us spot gaps, adapt processes, and improve outcomes immediately.
  • Creates agility – The speed at which we need to adapt to market changes makes onsite coordination with multiple departments a competitive advantage.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, ecommerce, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • 5-7 years of progressive ecommerce or digital commerce experience, including direct responsibility for operating or growing a DTC business.
  • Hands-on experience with Shopify, Shopify Plus, or a comparable ecommerce platform, including merchandising, integrations, testing, and optimization.
  • Demonstrated ownership of DTC commercial and operational performance, including revenue, margin, forecasting, fulfillment, and budget management.
  • Strong ecommerce analytics and financial skills, including proficiency with reporting tools and Excel, and the ability to translate data into clear business recommendations.
  • Proven ability to lead platform launches and cross-functional workstreams while managing agencies, technology vendors, and 3PL or supply-chain partners.
  • Strong commercial judgment, communication, and stakeholder-influence skills, with a hands-on, test-and-learn approach.
  • Ability to travel locally as needed, including regular visits to Seattle-area fulfillment partners during launch and stabilization.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a satisfactory driving record for driving on behalf of the company. This role is safety-sensitive because it requires driving on behalf of the company.

Preferred:

  • Experience in consumer packaged goods, food, beverage, or another high-frequency consumer category.
  • Experience launching a new DTC platform or building an early-stage DTC capability.
  • Experience with lifecycle marketing, subscriptions, loyalty, limited-release products, or consumer-learning programs.
  • Familiarity with ecommerce integrations such as customer service, payments, fraud prevention, order management, tax, or ERP systems.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
