SUMMARY Licensed Massage Therapists are responsible for providing high-quality, professional spa treatments that support wellness, recovery, and relaxation for guests of The Spa at Tamarack. LMTs will work with guests to assess their needs and deliver tailored services in a peaceful spa setting. This position requires a warm demeanor, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. · Perform a variety of massage techniques, including but not limited to Swedish, deep tissue, sports massage and body treatments · Greet guests and provide thorough consultations to understand needs and tailor services accordingly · Maintain a clean, safe, and relaxing treatment environment · Uphold professional standards in line with state licensing and spa protocols · Educate guests about the benefits of massage and recommend aftercare or future treatments · Assist with spa operations, including laundry, room setup, tidying up after guests, and monitoring supply levels to ensure timely reordering · Maintain up-to-date knowledge of spa protocols, massage techniques and wellness practices · Actively promote the spa, treatments, enhancements and retail, as well as promotions and/or discounts available · Provide excellent customer service to guests, Club members, Tamarack homeowners, and fellow team members · Monitor schedule to keep appointments moving smoothly through the spa, via computer or mobile device QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. · Must enjoy working with people and creating positive guest experiences · Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times · Strong communication and interpersonal skills · Self-motivated and able to take initiative without constant direction · Able to work independently and within a team · Demonstrates coachability by accepting feedback professionally, applying it effectively, and continuously improving performance. · Flexible with scheduling, including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays · Punctual, reliable, and highly organized EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE · Graduate of an accredited Massage Therapy program · Prior experience in a spa, resort, or wellness setting preferred · Strong knowledge of massage techniques, anatomy, and contraindications CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS · Current Idaho Massage Therapy License (Licenses from many states can be easily transferred to Idaho) · Current CPR/First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain) LANGUAGE SKILLS Fluent in English. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with guests and team members. Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply—Spanish or other second languages are a plus. REASONING SKILLS Ability to assess guest needs and make appropriate decisions regarding treatment techniques. Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. · Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive motions with hands and arms · Regularly required to bend, stretch, reach, and move treatment tools and products · Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds · Frequent use of senses including touch, vision, smell, and hearing · Able to work in fluctuating temperatures WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. · Calm, quiet spa environment, open 365 days a year · Weekend, holiday, morning and evening work may be required · May be required to assist in other spa or guest service areas COMPENSATION Massage Therapists are paid an hourly wage for all clocked-in time, plus a flat-rate commission for each service performed and a commission on retail sales. Gratuities are at the guest's discretion and can significantly increase overall earnings. This compensation structure provides stable pay with opportunities to earn more through performance and guest satisfaction.
