Position Overview

The Contract Specialist will support commercial contracting across AMC, partnering with Legal and the commercial, sales, supply chain, sourcing, finance, operations and quality teams. This role manages the day-to-day contract lifecycle—from intake, review and drafting through redlining, negotiation and execution—while providing practical, risk-based guidance that helps the business move forward.

A significant focus of this role is supporting our business that services and supplies the data center. Our market. AMC customers in this space include hyperscalers, data center developers and builders, project and construction managers, OEMs and engineering partners who serve them.. Although our power management and data center business is a primary focus, this role supports commercial contracting across AMC divisions and manages a broad range of customer and supplier agreements. • Advise on contract structure, commercial terms and risk allocation, including pricing, liability, warranties, quality, delivery, indemnification and termination.
  • Support contract interpretation, amendments, change orders and renewals throughout the agreement lifecycle.
  • Support business teams in identifying contractual risk, escalating significant issues to AMC attorneys with practical solutions and recommendations.

Project & Supply Chain Risk Connectivity

  • Elevate and help manage contractual risk across project scope and schedules, including milestones, delivery, acceptance, liquidated damages, changes and performance obligations.
  • Align customer commitments with supplier obligations and identify gaps that create supply chain exposure.
  • Partner with Strategic Sourcing and supply chain teams to coordinate customer- and supplier-side positions and apply enterprise standards.
  • Manage multiple agreements efficiently, keeping deals moving while balancing speed and risk.

Risk Advisory & Business Partnership

  • Summarize commercial, operational, delivery and legal risks to support informed leadership decisions.
  • Negotiate with sophisticated counterparties, recognizing when to hold, restructure or escalate a position.
  • Develop practical risk mitigations through scope, caps, carve-outs, insurance, supplier flow-downs, controls or commercial trade-offs.
  • Clearly explain contract positions and support customer discussions, pricing and deal structuring.
  • Collaborate globally with sales, operations, finance, quality, supply chain, cybersecurity and Legal.

Process Improvement & Team Support

  • Help maintain and improve contract templates, playbooks, fallback positions, escalation guidance and standard processes.
  • Support contract lifecycle management tools, records and reporting, while managing multiple matters through completion.
  • Identify recurring risks and recommend scalable solutions that help the business recognize issues earlier.
  • Support training on contracting fundamentals, company policy and when to engage Legal.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Required Skills & Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, legal studies or a related field.
  • Seven years of experience in commercial contracting, contract management or negotiation in a corporate, customer-facing environment; a law degree is not required.

  • Strong business acumen and a practical, solutions-oriented approach to structuring positions, trade-offs and risk mitigation.
  • Sound judgment and confidence in negotiations, with the ability to hold, adapt or escalate a position as appropriate.
  • Ability to summarize commercial, operational and legal risks clearly and explain contract positions to legal and non-legal stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of core commercial terms, including liability, indemnification, warranties, delivery, performance commitments, intellectual property and confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple agreements in a fast-paced, high-risk environment.
  • Collaborative, approachable and proactive self-starter who works effectively with autonomy and accountability.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

The following experience would distinguish a candidate:

  • Data center experience: supporting or contracting with hyperscalers, colocation providers, data center developers, builders, project managers, OEMs or engineering partners serving them, including familiarity with how these organizations approach agreements and negotiate..
  • Project-based contracting experience involving construction schedules, capital equipment or long-lead manufacturing.
  • Experience with both customer- and supplier-side contracting, including aligning obligations across agreements.
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing and in global, matrixed, decentralized or highly regulated environments..
  • Experience with contract lifecycle management platforms and AI-enabled contract tools.
  • Professional certification, such as CPCM, CCCM or CFCM, and an interest in broader contract management or commercial responsibility.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
