The posting

ROLE TITLE: Director, National Recruitment

POSITION REPORTS TO: VP, Strategy & Operations

LOCATION: Remote

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The National Team seeks a Director, National Recruitment to drive outsized impact across recruitment campaigns nationwide.

The National Team exists to ensure the Recruitment Team (RT) is able to meet our corps and early talent recruitment goals by deploying capacity where it can have the greatest impact, whether in response to team transitions, vacancies, or high-potential opportunities.

As a Director on the National Team, you will step into a wide range of teams and recruitment contexts. You’ll quickly build relationships with campaign leads and teammates, understand the strategy and goals of each campaign, and execute high-quality recruitment work that drives results.

You’ll also contribute to initiatives that strengthen the Recruitment Team as a whole. This could include leading learning and development, facilitating communities of practice, supporting staff hiring, advancing team culture and communications initiatives, supporting national events, or taking on other high-impact projects as needs and opportunities emerge.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and lead strategic recruitment campaigns to address vacancies and exits across teams on the Recruitment Team and Admissions Team, including Emerging Campus and Professionals, Early Talent, campus recruitment, and matriculation.
  • Establish strong partnership and trust with key internal stakeholders (including team leads, pod members, hub members) in order to collaborate effectively, meet campaign outcomes, and build strong working relationships and trust between National Team and our partners
  • Execute core recruitment strategies and RT messaging with excellence, including prospect connect, prospect cultivation, and influencer stakeholder and engagement
  • Add capacity to our full Recruitment Team by contributing to central workstreams such as communications, coaching, Learning + Development, National events, and staff hiring
  • Lead or support designated projects and initiatives that strengthen RT teamwide learning, strategy, and performance

KEY EXPERTISE AND EXPERIENCE

It is required to have:

  • Current or former experience as a Teach For America recruiter

The strongest applicants will bring:

  • Exceptional recruitment skill and a deep commitment to the craft of recruitment. You understand recruitment strategy, know what it takes to move prospects to action, build strong systems for execution, and have demonstrated results across your campaigns.
  • Strong relationship-building and partnership skills. You can quickly establish credibility and trust, develop productive partnerships and networks, and collaborate effectively across teams and lines of difference.
  • A strong learning orientation and comfort with ambiguity. You’ll regularly step into new workstreams, teams, and recruitment contexts, and you’re energized by learning quickly and adapting your approach.
  • Deep alignment with our core values, particularly Achieve Impact. You are motivated by taking on the work that matters most, even when that means shifting priorities, learning something new, or stepping into an unfamiliar challenge.
  • Strong judgment and autonomy. You can quickly assess a situation, determine where you can have the greatest impact, and make informed decisions about the strategies and levers most likely to drive results.

WORK DEMANDS

This position is remote; however, some recruitment campaigns will require travel. Candidates must be willing and able to travel as needed.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU

The National Team values community, connection, learning, and impact. You’ll join a team of talented colleagues who take on meaningful work across the Recruitment Team and step in wherever they can to make the greatest difference.

This role offers a unique opportunity to expand your range as a recruitment leader. You’ll work across different campaigns, strategies, teams, and challenges, building new skills and perspectives that you can carry from one context to the next. If you’re energized by variety, motivated by impact, and excited to continually stretch and grow your toolkit, the National Team could be a great fit.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
