  • Maintaining the school grounds and outdoor areas, including litter picking, gritting, snow clearance, and other routine grounds maintenance tasks.
  • Supporting the preparation and clearing of classrooms, halls, and outdoor spaces for lessons, assemblies and school events and help manage deliveries and site stock.
  • Carrying out routine maintenance, minor repairs, and general building upkeep to a high standard.
  • Assisting with porterage duties, including moving furniture, equipment, and deliveries as required.
  • Working in accordance with health and safety procedures and contributing to a positive safety culture across the school.
  • Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people in line with the school's safeguarding policies and procedures.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a practical, hands-on approach and is happy to undertake a range of physical duties.
  • Possesses good DIY and maintenance skills, along with a proactive attitude and commitment to maintaining our school buildings and grounds to a high standard.
  • Enjoys working both indoors and outdoors in a busy school environment alongside pupils, staff, visitors, and contractors.
  • Demonstrates a flexible approach to work and a positive, solution-focused "can-do" attitude.
  • Works effectively as part of a team and contributes positively to the wider school community.
  • Is able to work independently, using initiative to identify and resolve issues when required.
  • Is willing to undertake relevant training and professional development to support the role.

What we offer:

  • A well‑maintained, well‑resourced school environment
  • 30 days’ annual leave plus 8 bank holidays
  • Access to a wide range of online CPD courses
  • Membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme
  • 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
