We are seeking reliable, flexible and enthusiastic Casual Catering Staff to provide cover for staff sickness, absence and other operational requirements across schools in Leicester City and Thurmaston

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking for flexible work while making a positive contribution to pupils' school experience.

As a Catering Assistant, you will help ensure that meals are prepared, served, and cleaned away efficiently while maintaining high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and customer service.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the preparation of food and beverages.
  • Supporting basic cooking activities under supervision.
  • Serving and transporting meals.
  • Setting up and clearing dining areas, service points, equipment, and furniture.
  • Washing crockery, cutlery, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
  • Maintaining cleanliness within the kitchen, dining areas, and associated facilities.
  • Assisting with the movement and arrangement of dining furniture.
  • Undertaking other duties appropriate to the role as directed by the Catering supervisor/Manager

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a positive and flexible approach to work.
  • Enjoy working as part of a team.
  • Be committed to providing excellent customer service.
  • Take pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene.
  • Be reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
  • Have previous catering experience (desirable but not essential as training will be provided).
