Learning Support Assistant

Essex Scale 4 Point 8-9 Actual salary: £19,568.55 to £19,882.11 per annum Additional fringe allowance - £531.78 per annum

31 hours, 15 minutes per week - Monday to Friday: 8.30am - 3.15pm (30-minute unpaid break for lunch) 38 weeks of the year - term time plus INSET days

Start Date: November 2026

Doddinghurst C of E Junior School wishes to appoint a Learning Support Assistant who has a good understanding of child development and learning and would be willing to support children with both their physical and academic needs.

You will have a passion for working with pupils and assisting them on their journey. You will need to understand the subjects that you support the children in, be able to demonstrate a fair attitude and apply rules consistently as well as be confident in adjusting learning programs to meet the child’s needs. You will be resilient, hardworking and have excellent de-escalation skills.

The successful candidate will be:

Committed to supporting pupils’ learning, behaviour, emotional needs, and overall welfare.

Dedicated to raising outcomes for all students through innovation and continuous improvement.

A strong communicator with excellent organisational and written skills, able to multi-task effectively.

An enthusiastic team player with good classroom management and a commitment to safeguarding.
