The posting

Could you be the organised, friendly and welcoming person at the heart of our school?

Loughborough CE Primary School is looking for an enthusiastic, approachable and highly organised School Administrator to join our team. This is a varied and rewarding role offering the opportunity to become a key part of our school community, supporting our children, families, staff and visitors and helping to ensure that the day-to-day life of our school runs smoothly.

We are proud to be a warm, welcoming, diverse and inclusive community where every child is valued and encouraged to thrive. As a Church of England school, our Christian ethos is central to school life and our vision is beautifully captured through our mission: “Together in God’s grace, may we give our children the roots to grow and the wings to fly.” We want every child to feel valued, develop strong foundations and have the confidence and aspiration to be the very best they can be.

Our values are not simply something we teach our children. They help shape the way we work together as a school community. Respect, perseverance and forgiveness are among the values explored through the school’s values curriculum, encouraging children to value themselves and others, show kindness, keep going when things are difficult, support one another and understand the importance of fresh starts. We are looking for a School Administrator who will embrace this ethos and demonstrate these qualities through their relationships with children, families, colleagues and the wider community.

The school office is at the centre of everything we do, and you will often be one of the first people our families and visitors meet. We are therefore looking for someone who will provide a warm, professional and helpful welcome, whether face-to-face, over the telephone or through our school communications. You will be someone who enjoys helping people, builds positive relationships and understands just how much difference excellent administration can make within a busy primary school. This is particularly important in a school which places great value on positive partnerships between home and school and operates an open-door approach for families.

This is certainly not a role where every day looks the same. You will provide a wide range of administrative support, working closely with the Headteacher and Senior Administrator and using your initiative to respond to the changing needs of the school day. From welcoming a new family or answering a parent's query, to maintaining important school records, supporting attendance, helping organise school activities or dealing with an unexpected situation, you will be someone the wider school team can depend upon.

An important part of the role will be supporting children and families throughout their journey with us. You will help to make the admissions process as smooth and welcoming as possible, maintain accurate pupil and waiting-list information and support the school's work around attendance. Your ability to communicate sensitively and professionally will be important, particularly when working with families or handling confidential information.

You will also make an important contribution behind the scenes, supporting areas such as school communications and recruitment administration, finance, health and safety and the organisation of trips and activities. Accuracy and attention to detail will be important, but so too will the ability to see the bigger picture and understand how your work contributes to creating the caring and supportive environment in which our children can flourish.

We are looking for someone with excellent organisational, communication and IT skills who can prioritise effectively when faced with competing demands and deadlines. You will be comfortable using information management systems, Microsoft Office and web-based systems and, importantly, have the confidence and willingness to learn new processes and systems.

You will need to be reliable, professional, discreet and adaptable, with the confidence to use your own initiative whilst also enjoying being part of a team. A busy school office occasionally requires plans to change at a moment's notice, so a calm approach, good sense of perspective and willingness to help will go a long way.

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who will share the values and ethos of our school. Someone who believes in treating people with kindness and respect, who understands the importance of inclusion and celebrates the diversity of our community, and who is committed to helping create an environment where children feel safe, valued and able to succeed. Our school actively promotes mutual respect and tolerance, and these principles are intended to permeate all areas of school life.

Previous experience of working within a school would be an advantage, but just as important is the person you are and the qualities you will bring to our team. If you are positive, proactive and approachable, enjoy working with people and take pride in being organised and getting things done, this could be a wonderful opportunity to become part of our school community.

In return, you will be joining a school with a strong Christian ethos and a genuine family atmosphere, where staff and governors are committed to working in partnership with children and families. Your contribution will be seen and valued every day. Whether you are welcoming a family, supporting a colleague, solving an unexpected problem, keeping important information up to date or simply making someone's day a little easier, you will play a genuine part in helping our children to flourish and succeed.

If you are organised, positive, adaptable and committed to our values, and you would enjoy being the person who helps keep everything running smoothly at the heart of our school, we would love to hear from you.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
