Teacher of Science (Maternity Cover) - Healing Academy

The role:

  • Salary Scale: Main payscale M1-U3
  • Reports to: Assistant Principal

As a Teacher of Science, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, challenging lessons that engage and motivate students across KS3 and KS4. You will join a team dedicated to academic excellence and personal growth, ensuring that our students acquire the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in the futureKey Responsibilities:

  • Plan and teach well-organised lessons informed by up-to-date pedagogical and subject knowledge.
  • Use a range of strategies and eLearning tools to meet diverse learner needs and raise pupil attainment.
  • Maintain a secure understanding of the technology curriculum and its contribution to cross-curricular learning.
  • Establish a purposeful and safe learning environment, managing behavior constructively in line with school policies.
  • Support the social, emotional, and behavioral skills of students, acting as a role model and contributing to the wider school ethos.

You are an exemplary classroom practitioner who is reflective, resilient, and committed to driving up standards.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant Undergraduate Degree.
  • Experience teaching in a secondary environment (KS3 & KS4).
  • Strong IT skills and a commitment to continuous professional development.
  • A deep understanding of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to the wellbeing of young people.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with staff and students
