We are looking for a Qualified Teacher Teacher to Lead Business Studies and Economics. The job purpose is to secure high quality teaching and learning, the effective use of resources and high standards of achievement for all the students directly taught and all teaching staff are expected to meet the requirements of the Teachers’ Standards, these encapsulate the role of a teacher at Queen Mary’s High School.

Key responsibilities: :

  • Having regard to the curriculum for the school, plan and teach challenging, well organised lessons and sequences of lessons, informed by secure subject knowledge: Planning and preparing stimulating and interesting courses and lessons for pupils across KS3 and 4; A keenness to share in the Queen Marys’ High School ethos which aims to support each student as they seek to fulfil their potential through academic excellence and personal development.
  • Set challenging teaching and learning objectives which are relevant to all students in your classes
  • Apply a range of teaching strategies to deliver learning objectives and incorporate inclusive strategies that meet the needs of all learners
  • To work collaboratively with other professionals and manage the work of support staff to enhance students’ learning

Pay range: MPS/UPS (£34,068 - £52,835) plus TLR3B (£1,445)

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified teacher status or recognised equivalent
  • Ability to teach Business Studies and Economics to KS5
  • Ability to teach ‘good or outstanding’ lessons
  • Effective classroom management Relates well to students, staff and parent An awareness of the importance and role of the subject in contributing to the students wider development
