About You:
The Milton Keynes Academy is seeking for a passionate and creative teacher with the ability to inspire students of all abilities to develop their artistic talents and achieve their full potential. Our Ideal candidate will have:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree with significant Art-related content.
Be passionate about teaching Art and Design and inspiring a love of creativity in young people.
Have a strong understanding of the National Curriculum and effective teaching and learning strategies.
Demonstrate a track record of good or outstanding classroom practice, or the potential to do so.
Have high expectations and a firm belief that every student can fulfil and exceed their potential.
Be skilled in using assessment, feedback and data to secure excellent student progress.
Be an excellent communicator with strong literacy, numeracy and ICT skills.
Be able to motivate, challenge and support students of varying abilities and backgrounds.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and external partners to enhance student outcomes.
Be reflective, committed to continual professional development and willing to share best practice with others.

About our Art Department
Our Art & Design Department is a creative, collaborative and supportive team, united by a shared commitment to inspiring creativity, confidence and a lifelong appreciation of the visual arts in every student. We pride ourselves on delivering a broad, engaging and fully resourced curriculum that enables students to explore a wide range of artistic processes, techniques, materials and cultural influences.
The team combines extensive experience with a passion for high-quality teaching and learning, creating an environment where staff work closely together to share expertise and continually develop their practice. Our curriculum is well established and fully planned, providing excellent support whilst also offering opportunities for staff to contribute to its ongoing development and enrichment.
The department is highly successful, with students achieving strong outcomes in GCSE Art through the OCR Art & Design specification. Alongside teaching Art at KS3 and KS4, the successful candidate will also contribute to the delivery of Design & Technology at KS3.
