The posting

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Design Technology to deliver high-quality lessons that support students in achieving outstanding progress. The successful candidate will set clear learning targets, assess student progress with regular feedback, and ensure students are well-prepared for examinations. With a genuine passion for Design Technology, you’ll help our students grow academically, socially, and emotionally, while staying up-to-date with current educational thinking. They will contribute to schemes of work, maintain a stimulating learning environment, and engage with parents and the wider school community. The role also involves taking responsibility for professional development and actively participating in school duties and performance management activities.

The Design and Technology Faculty consists of 3 main departments (Design Technology, Food and Textiles). In KS3, Food and Textiles are taught for 6 months each in Year 7

and 9 with Product Design taught all year. In year 8, all 3 subjects are taught on a carousel through the year so each group has a term of each specialism. At KS4, we offer

GCSE Design and Technology with a Resistant Materials ‘pathway’ or a Graphics ‘pathway’. Additionally, Food Preparation and Nutrition is offered as well as Art Textiles. At KS5,

similar courses are offered in Art Textiles and Design and Technology. Exam results are excellent at both KS4 and 5 for all subjects.

Department facilities consist of 3 well-equipped workshops, 1 graphics room (as well as a dedicated work space), two textiles rooms and two food technology rooms.

What we are looking for:

  • Teachers who are passionate about improving students’ life chances.
  • Ability to contribute to a supportive and highly effective teaching team.
  • An enthusiasm for creative subjects and developing students’ potential.

What we offer:

  • A supportive team within a school that prioritises teaching and learning.
  • Opportunities to try new approaches, take risks, and have fun in the classroom.
  • A positive and collaborative atmosphere, focusing on strong relationships and personalised support for each student.
  • A Recruitment and Retention Allowance may be available for experienced candidates looking to develop leadership skills.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
