Software International (SI) supplies technical talent to a variety of clients ranging from Fortune 100/500/1000 companies to small and mid-sized organizations in Canada/US and Europe.

We currently have an indefinite contract role as a Senior Project Manager – Financial Systems Transformation - SAP with our global SAP consulting client, working on a hybrid setup. This is a 6 month contract initially, but could be extended.

Location: Montreal, QC - Hybrid

Rate: $70 -$85 CDN/hr C2C depending on overall experience

Job Brief: Senior Project Manager – Financial Systems Transformation

The ideal candidate is a confident leader who can partner effectively with Finance, IT, and Executive stakeholders, translating business needs into scalable, well-governed system solutions.

Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Project Manager specializing in Financial Systems to lead the selection, implementation, and optimization of enterprise finance platforms.

This role requires deep knowledge of finance processes, strong program/project management skills, and the ability to drive process automation, data enablement, and change adoption across a complex organization.

Key Areas of Expertise

Financial Systems & Technology

  • Proven experience leading implementations of enterprise finance platforms, including:
  • SAP S/4HANA
  • SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)
  • OneStream
  • BlackLine
  • Other EPM, CPM, or financial close & consolidation tools
  • Hands-on experience with system selection (RFP/RFQ), vendor evaluation, and contract negotiations
  • Strong understanding of system integrations, particularly ERP-to-EPM and source-to-report architectures

Finance Process Knowledge

  • Deep understanding of end-to-end finance processes, including:
  • Record to Report (R2R)
  • Financial Close & Consolidation
  • Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Management Reporting & Analytics
  • Expertise in identifying opportunities to standardize, simplify, and automate finance processes
  • Ability to challenge current state processes and design optimized future-state operating models

Project & Program Management

  • Demonstrated success managing large-scale, complex system implementations
  • Strong command of:
  • Project planning, dependencies, and critical path management
  • Budget, scope, and risk management
  • Vendor and systems integrator oversight
  • Experience working in hybrid delivery environments (Waterfall, Agile, or SAP Activate)
  • Skilled in managing multiple workstreams across business and technology teams

Change Management & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Strong understanding of organizational change management principles
  • Experience driving adoption through:
  • Stakeholder analysis
  • Communications and training strategies
  • Business readiness and cutover planning
  • Excellent presentation and storytelling skills; able to communicate complex topics clearly
  • Comfortable working with and influencing all levels of the organization, from executives to hands-on finance users

Data & Analytics Mindset

  • Strong understanding of data as a strategic asset
  • Experience enabling:
  • Trusted financial data models
  • Improved data governance and controls
  • Self-service analytics and performance management
  • Ability to bridge finance, data, and technology conversations

Additional Desired Experience (Nice to Have / Highly Relevant)

  • Experience working in large, global, or matrixed organizations
  • Familiarity with:
  • Finance data governance and master data management
  • SOX, audit, and financial controls implications of system changes
  • Cloud-based finance platforms and SaaS delivery models
  • Prior experience in finance transformation or finance PMO roles
