Roving Engineer - Technomar Shipping Inc.

Technomar Shipping Inc. is seeking a dedicated Roving Engineer to join our Technical department. As a Roving Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the overall maintenance and operation of our vessels.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct regular technical audits and inspections onboard vessels to ensure compliance with company policies, classification society rules, and international maritime regulations.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to Chief Engineers on operational issues, troubleshooting, and machinery performance optimization.
  • Assist with voyage planning and preparation, ensuring vessels are adequately provisioned with spare parts, lubricants, and other necessary supplies.
  • Oversee maintenance and repair work during port calls and drydockings, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to budget and schedule.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving measures to optimize vessel operations.
  • Previous experience of 12 months seagoing as a Chief Engineer within the shipping industry, preferably Containers and Bulk Carriers. Experience with other types will be considered.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and technical tools.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
