Position Summary

The Financial Reporting Manager I is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of financial information for both company management and external users, and plays a key role in the general accounting, technical accounting, and financial reporting functions supporting Tecomet's US operating sites and corporate entities. This position leads and manages a team of accounting professionals, and actively participates in the accounting cycle to ensure that accounting processes are timely, accurate, efficient, and consistent, while also leading technical accounting research and audit compliance across US operations.

The Accounting Manager should have strong general and technical accounting skills, sound analytical judgment, and the ability to multi-task and perform the job function under minimal supervision, along with excellent communication and people-leadership skills. The role requires a high level of attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, balanced with the ability to step back and perform analytical review to identify errors, omissions, and unusual activity. This position is also responsible for leading, coaching, and developing a team of accounting professionals to build a high-performing, collaborative function.

This position reports to the Director, Financial Reporting and is part of the Global Finance team at Tecomet. • Maintain various schedules such as capital projects, inventory, prepaid expenses, and accruals, reconciling each to the general ledger for US sites and the corporate entities
  • Calculate inventory cycle count variances and maintain the related variance schedule; test cycle counts for accuracy, including oversight of year-end inventory counts
  • Record intercompany transactions and perform reconciliations, including oversight of Tecomet's global intercompany activity
  • Generate periodic financial statements in compliance with US GAAP
  • Lead technical accounting research and prepare whitepapers on complex accounting issues such as revenue recognition, leases, business combinations, and debt arrangements
  • Monitor, interpret, and implement new accounting standards and updates from relevant regulatory bodies (e.g., FASB, PCC)
  • Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors
  • Assist in the implementation of consolidated accounting policies and procedures
  • Ensure the accuracy, quality, and integrity of the Company's accounting system, and support the integrity of the Company's internal control environment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., FP&A, Tax) to provide technical accounting guidance and ensure consistent application of accounting principles
  • Drive process improvement in the monthly close process and identify opportunities for automation within financial reporting process
  • Manage and complete specialized accounting projects independently or as part of a team
  • Recruit, hire, and onboard accounting staff, and build and maintain a high-performing team
  • Assign, prioritize, and review the work of team members, providing regular coaching and constructive feedback
  • Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and support the professional development and training needs of direct reports
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Additional duties and ad hoc projects as requested by supervisor

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
