Position Related

As a Mid-Level Java Developer, you will independently deliver well-defined features and services across the software development lifecycle, from technical design and implementation through testing, deployment, and production support. You will collaborate with architects, DevOps engineers, integration specialists, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, reliable, and maintainable solutions. Experience with integration and middleware projects will be considered an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend applications and APIs using Java and Spring Boot.

• Build scalable, secure, and resilient microservices aligned with approved architecture and coding standards.

• Develop and consume RESTful APIs and support system-to-system integrations.

• Write clean, reusable, and testable code, including unit and integration tests.

• Work with relational and NoSQL databases, including data modelling, query development, and performance optimization.

• Containerize applications using Docker and support deployment and operations in Kubernetes environments.

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, release activities, monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine requirements, estimate work, and deliver solutions using Agile practices.

• Apply secure development practices and continuously improve application quality, reliability, and performance.

Your Typical day at work

• Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, technical discussions, and retrospectives.

• Implement new features and enhance existing Java and Spring Boot services.

• Create and maintain REST APIs, microservices, database components, and integration flows.

• Review code, resolve defects, improve automated tests, and address static-code-analysis findings.

• Build and run containerized services locally and support deployments to Kubernetes and cloud environments.

• Investigate application logs, alerts, incidents, and performance issues, and implement sustainable fixes.

• Maintain technical documentation, API specifications, deployment notes, and operational runbooks.

• Coordinate with architects, QA, DevOps, integration teams, and business stakeholders to deliver agreed outcomes.

Note: Above goals and job descriptions are indicative and subject to change.

Eligibility Criteria

Experience and Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline.

• Typically, 3–5 years of professional software development experience, including hands-on development with Java in production environments. Candidates with comparable practical experience and demonstrated capability may also be considered.

• Practical experience with Spring Boot and the development of RESTful APIs and microservices.

• Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes, including containerization, configuration, deployment, and basic troubleshooting.

• Experience with relational databases and SQL; exposure to NoSQL databases is beneficial.

• Experience developing or operating applications in a cloud environment such as Azure, AWS, OCI, or GCP.

• Understanding Git-based development, CI/CD practices, automated testing, logging, and monitoring.

• Experience with enterprise integration or middleware projects is preferred, particularly in API integration, asynchronous messaging, event-driven solutions, system-to-system data exchange, or enterprise integration platforms.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Functional Skills / Knowledge Areas

• Core development: Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, object-oriented design, design patterns, and clean-code principles.

• Containers and orchestration: Practical experience with Docker and working knowledge of Kubernetes, including deployments, services, configuration, secrets, health checks, application logs, and basic troubleshooting.

• Databases: SQL and relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL; NoSQL exposure is an advantage.

• Cloud and DevOps: Experience developing, deploying, or supporting applications on at least one major cloud platform, together with practical knowledge of Git, Maven or Gradle, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and application monitoring.

• Integration and middleware: Knowledge of API integration, messaging technologies such as Kafka event-driven architecture, authentication standards, and integration patterns is preferred.

• Quality and security: Unit and integration testing, debugging, performance tuning, secure coding, and code-review practices.

• Ways of working: Agile delivery, ownership, customer focus, teamwork, and the ability to communicate technical topics clearly.

Potential Career Path

• Progression to Senior Java Developer, Technical Lead, Solution Architect, DevOps Engineer, or Integration Specialist roles.

• Opportunities to deepen expertise in cloud-native engineering, microservices, platform engineering, integration, and middleware technologies.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
