The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Developer Advocate, Edge & IoT based in the United States.

Join a forward-thinking technology environment where connectivity, edge computing, and artificial intelligence converge to unlock new possibilities for developers and businesses. As a Developer Advocate, you will build real-world demonstrations, technical benchmarks, and open-source projects that showcase the power of connected devices and AI at the edge. You will work hands-on with hardware, cloud infrastructure, networking technologies, and AI inference tools to turn complex technical capabilities into practical, reproducible solutions. Through engaging tutorials, videos, workshops, and conference presentations, you will help developers understand and adopt emerging technologies. Working closely with Product, Engineering, and Developer Relations teams, you will influence product development through technical feedback and community insights. Your work will also contribute to organic discovery and AI-powered search visibility, combining technical expertise, creative storytelling, and measurable business impact.

Accountabilities

  • Design and publish technical benchmarks: Develop and execute repeatable performance tests measuring latency, throughput, reliability, and cost across connectivity, edge computing, and AI inference services. Document methodologies and results so developers can reproduce and validate findings.
  • Build hands-on hardware demonstrations: Develop, deploy, and operate working solutions using real-world devices such as Raspberry Pi, ESP32, cellular modems, and IoT gateways equipped with SIM or eSIM connectivity. Demonstrate solutions in practical environments and participate in occasional field demonstrations and industry events.
  • Develop edge AI use cases: Create reference applications that combine IoT connectivity, private networking, edge computing, and AI inference to demonstrate how organizations can deploy intelligent applications closer to their devices and users.
  • Demonstrate compliance-focused configurations: Build practical examples illustrating data residency, in-region inference, zero data retention, and private connectivity to help organizations address security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Create open-source resources: Publish and maintain sample applications, starter kits, tutorials, and code repositories on GitHub, ensuring compatibility with current APIs, software development kits, and device firmware.
  • Lead developer advocacy initiatives: Produce high-quality technical videos, livestreams, workshops, tutorials, conference presentations, and community events. Collaborate with content specialists to transform hands-on projects into useful educational resources.
  • Strengthen the product feedback loop: Gather insights from real-world implementations and developer communities, including GitHub, Discord, Reddit, and X. Share usability challenges, technical friction points, and product improvement opportunities with Product and Engineering teams.
  • Support organic and AI-driven discovery: Create original, technically credible content that improves search visibility, earns developer trust, and helps technical resources surface in traditional search engines and AI-generated answers.
  • Collaborate across teams: Work closely with Developer Relations, Product, Engineering, and content stakeholders to align demonstrations and educational resources with product capabilities, developer needs, and business objectives.
  • Relevant professional experience: Experience in developer relations, developer advocacy, solutions engineering, or a related technical role, ideally within IoT, telecommunications, networking, cloud infrastructure, or developer-focused technology companies.
  • Demonstrated technical portfolio: A public collection of projects, demonstrations, sample applications, tutorials, or technical presentations that developers have found useful.
  • Software development expertise: Hands-on experience writing, testing, and debugging C/C++ and Python for devices, along with JavaScript/TypeScript or Go for cloud and edge applications. Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or Codex is expected.
  • IoT and hardware experience: Practical knowledge of cellular or IoT connectivity, including SIM/eSIM provisioning, access point names (APNs), LTE-M, NB-IoT, or related technologies. Experience with Raspberry Pi, ESP32, cellular modems, or MQTT is highly desirable.
  • Networking fundamentals: A solid understanding of networking concepts and technologies, including BGP, IPsec, virtual private clouds (VPCs), and cloud interconnects.
  • AI and inference knowledge: Working knowledge of large language model inference and AI application patterns, including model serving, streaming, and agent tool use.
  • Benchmarking and research skills: Experience designing and executing reliable performance benchmarks, with a rigorous approach to methodology, reproducibility, measurement, and communicating results honestly.
  • Technical communication and content creation: Excellent writing and research skills, with the ability to produce original, evidence-based content that developers trust. Strong video production, editing, and visual design capabilities are required, supported by a portfolio demonstrating polished technical content.
  • Education or equivalent experience: A master's or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Security and compliance awareness: Familiarity with data residency, privacy, and security requirements in regulated industries such as healthcare, finance, or the public sector is an advantage.
  • Presentation and community engagement: Experience delivering live technical demonstrations at conferences, meetups, workshops, or through online video platforms.
  • SEO and AI search awareness: Familiarity with search engine optimization and how AI answer engines discover, evaluate, and cite technical content is a plus.
  • Execution and adaptability: A hands-on, delivery-oriented mindset, with the ability to move quickly from an idea to a functioning demonstration. You should be comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced startup environment and collaborating effectively across teams.
  • High-impact opportunity: Help shape how developers use connected devices, edge computing, and AI to build innovative real-world applications.
  • Hands-on access to advanced technology: Work directly with network infrastructure, GPUs, edge computing resources, and AI inference capabilities.
  • Early access to emerging tools: Explore advanced AI models, agent frameworks, voice AI, and inference technologies as part of your everyday work.
  • Learning and development: Benefit from a learning-focused environment with access to technical tools, training, and mentorship.
  • Collaborative culture: Join a driven and supportive team that values innovation, technical curiosity, knowledge sharing, and collective achievement.
  • Measurable impact: Contribute to initiatives that connect developer education and advocacy with organic growth, product adoption, and business outcomes.
  • Real-world experimentation: Build and test solutions using physical devices and live networks rather than relying solely on theoretical examples or sample code.
  • Compensation: Salary details were not specified in the provided job description.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
