Would you like to work outdoors year-round and assist on some of the biggest and best construction projects in Kentucky?

We’re looking for someone who is ready to learn and build an exciting, hands-on career in geotechnical testing. In this role, you’ll gain valuable experience across a variety of field and testing activities while developing skills that can serve you throughout your career. Description:

  • Serve as the Terracon representative on drilling projects, providing direction to subcontracted drilling crews, communicating professionally with site contacts, identifying utility markings, classifying soils when appropriate, and managing changing site conditions.
  • Assist with pile load testing and other types of data collection related to soil conditions and strength. You’ll receive comprehensive, hands-on training from an experienced Lead Technician, with the goal of developing your skills and advancing into a Lead Pile Load Testing Technician role.

Responsibilities

  • Document daily field activities, observations, testing results, and project progress accurately and thoroughly.
  • Strong communication with the Project Manager is essential to ensure the project is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the project requirements.
  • Perform laboratory testing, safely transport soil samples, and maintain clean, organized, and well-maintained equipment and vehicles to support efficient field operations.
  • Take on progressively greater levels of training, responsibility, and independence as you develop your skills and experience in the field.
  • Follow all safety rules, practices, and project-specific requirements. Complete thorough pre-task planning before beginning work to identify potential hazards and ensure work is performed safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.
  • Little to no prior experience required – we’ll train you
  • Willingness to travel overnight
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
