Job Description

At JDP, we're passionate about delivering outstanding service to our customers, and our Branch/Yard Assistants play a vital role in making that happen.

We're looking for a motivated and hardworking individual to join our Isle of Wight branch. This is a hands-on role that combines warehouse operations, customer service, and team collaboration, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety and takes pride in a job well done.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Branch/Yard Assistant, you'll support the day-to-day operation of the branch by:

  • Picking customer orders accurately and efficiently
  • Loading and unloading vehicles safely
  • Assisting with goods in and stock movements
  • Providing customers with product information and excellent service
  • Serving customers on the trade counter when required
  • Processing orders accurately and within customer deadlines
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and Health & Safety throughout the yard and warehouse
  • Working closely with colleagues to ensure the branch operates smoothly

Qualifications

Essential

✔ Excellent communication and customer service skills

✔ Good literacy and numeracy skills

✔ A positive, hardworking, and helpful attitude

✔ Willingness to learn all aspects of the branch operation

✔ Understanding of Health & Safety within a working environment

✔ Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Desirable

⭐ Warehouse or yard experience

⭐ Computer literacy

⭐ Forklift Truck Licence
