ABOUT US

Teton is redefining the role of healthcare workers through cutting-edge AI technology and a great product experience. As populations get older and staff shortages grow, healthcare systems are under pressure. Our mission is to decrease the cost of healthcare while improving the quality of care.

Our product enables care teams to intervene, prevent and operate more efficiently. Our ambient sensors in resident rooms capture activity, sleep, respiration, gait and more. These signals are used both to react fast to risk events, like falls, and for long-term health analysis that care teams can act on.

Teton is scaling fast, operating in the Nordics, UK, DACH and US. Expect travel to the US to meet users and team members.

We focus relentlessly on product excellence and user experience, deploying solutions at speed that make a tangible difference for carers. We are an aspiring meritocracy biased towards action, always striving to raise the bar. If you are driven by impact, speed and leveling up, this might be the place for you.

The position requires a physical presence at our office in Copenhagen, Denmark. If you are looking for a 9-17 job, perform best with structure and struggle dealing with unknowns, this is not for you. We believe close collaboration between a hard-working, high-agency team enables the fastest and most efficient iteration cycles, helping us build an impactful product that healthcare professionals truly love to use.

THE JOB

We're looking for a product-focused Backend Engineer who sits with the product team and owns the backend for new customer-facing features. Care workers and care managers rely on what you ship every shift, on mobile and on the web. This isn't a ticket-taking platform role. You'll work closely with users and product, design the APIs and data models new features need, ship them into production, and check afterwards whether what you built actually made a shift easier. Your goal is to shrink the time from a customer request to a reliable backend in production, without cutting corners on privacy of residents' health data.

In this role, you will focus on:

- Feature Backend: Own the backend for new product features end-to-end, from design discussions through APIs, data models and services to production rollout across multiple markets.

- Product Partnership: Sit with the product team. Shape how features work under the hood, cut scope when needed, and make the backend choices that keep iteration fast without painting us into a corner.

- Customer Insight: Talk to care staff and our customer success team, visit care facilities when it helps, and turn messy feedback into concrete backend and product decisions. Come with ideas and push them forward.

- APIs & Data Models: Design and build the APIs, schemas and services product features need. Improve and fix the systems behind them when they get in the way of shipping.

- Quality, Privacy & Safety: Ship with care for health data: sensible access control, auditability and privacy by default. Keep the alerts and workflows care teams depend on reliable when new features land.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Strong TypeScript skills: this is the language for everything we build.

- Solid production experience building backend APIs and services, and working with relational databases (e.g. Postgres).

- Comfortable owning the backend side of product features, not only platform or infrastructure work.

- AWS or equivalent cloud platform experience.

- Comfortable talking directly with non-technical users and turning messy feedback into concrete decisions.

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team.

NICE TO HAVE

- Experience working closely with product managers, designers and frontend engineers on customer-facing features.

- Familiarity with real-time systems, event-driven architectures or push notifications.

- Experience with health data or other regulated, privacy-sensitive domains (e.g. GDPR).

- Experience shipping products across multiple markets and languages.

- Some frontend exposure (React / React Native) so you can reason about the full feature, even if backend is your focus.

WHAT WE OFFER

- Participation in our warrant program (stock options).

- A small team where your decisions directly shape the product.

- A Copenhagen-based office with close collaboration, no async-only culture.

- Work on software that healthcare workers depend on every day, the impact is tangible and immediate.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
