Job Description

Change the world. Love your job.

Texas Instruments (TI) is seeking a Financial Planning Analyst to support our SM factory located in Sherman, Texas. Following the start of analog wafer production in 2025, we are now embarking on a significant strategic expansion, planning up to four factory cleanrooms. This expansion is a cornerstone of TI’s long-term strategy to build the manufacturing capacity required to support global customer growth for decades to come.

The SM Financial Planning Analyst serves as a high-impact business partner to site leadership. You will be responsible for orchestrating disciplined capital management strategies, governing strict financial compliance, and driving the cost competitiveness of our growing manufacturing footprint. This role offers the unique opportunity to shape the success of a multi-billion dollar expansion and influence decisions that directly impact TI’s long-term manufacturing success.

Key Impact Areas

  • Strategic Capital Management: Lead the financial oversight of our capital investments, including the planning and execution of SM 1, 2, 3, and 4 expansions. You will ensure all capital deployments are optimized for maximum financial return and aligned with TI’s long-term roadmap.
  • Financial Governance & Compliance: Act as a primary safeguard for site integrity by ensuring strict adherence to all applicable policies and procedures. You will play a critical role in auditing and strengthening internal controls, particularly regarding large-scale construction projects and future site development.
  • Executive Leadership & Decision Support: Provide high-level strategic recommendations to VP and SVP-level management. You will translate complex financial data into actionable insights regarding P&L performance, cost-savings initiatives, and capital ROI.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate closely with finance, accounting, tax, manufacturing, and facilities leadership teams to drive alignment for site-level financial execution with company-wide strategy.

Job Purpose and Responsibilities

  • Capital Investment Oversight: Manage the financial lifecycle of site expansion projects, ensuring rigorous tracking of capital expenditures (CapEx) and alignment with projected financial returns.
  • Compliance & Internal Controls: Co-work with policy and procedure owners to proactively test, assess, and strengthen internal controls. Ensure 100% compliance with financial protocols, specifically regarding construction accounting and site-specific financial workflows.
  • Cost Leadership & Strategy: Drive cost competitiveness by identifying gaps in results and processes. Partner on the coordination of financial strategies for annual and strategic roadmaps.
  • P&L Accountability: Maintain full responsibility for factory P&L knowledge, with a specialized focus on the intersection of cost-savings initiatives and capital investment efficiency.
  • Ad-hoc Strategic Analysis: Provide rapid-response financial modeling and analysis for fab and manufacturing leadership to support real-time decision-making.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Operations, or a related field.
  • 2 years of industry finance experience, semiconductor, construction, or manufacturing finance experience a plus.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Spotfire, and SharePoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and lead cross-functional collaborations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Experience: Exposure and training in a manufacturing, industrial, construction, or other operational environment setting.
  • Advanced Analytical Skills: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, particularly regarding complex capital structures and cost modeling.
  • Strategic Mindset: A proven ability to look beyond the immediate data to understand long-term financial implications and compliance risks.
  • Executive Communication: Polished presentation skills with a track record of delivering strategic recommendations to executive-level leadership.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
