We seek an accomplished scholar with an active research program that aligns with the mission of the FAA Center of Excellence for UAS (ASSURE)—a national coalition dedicated to advancing the safe integration of UAS into the U.S. National Airspace System, which includes TWU as the newest member.

This faculty member will play a key role in advancing AAM and UAS research, mentoring students, and collaborating with industry and government partners to address critical challenges in UAS safety, operations, policy, and technology development. The ideal candidate will have a strong record of research funding, publications, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

  • Teach undergraduate courses in aeronautical sciences, UAS operations, and related fields.
  • Mentor students and supervise student research projects.
  • Establish and maintain collaborations with government agencies (FAA, NASA, DoD), industry leaders, and academic partners.
  • Engage in curriculum development and contribute to the continuous improvement of UAS and aeronautical science programs at TWU.
  • Serve on university, departmental, and professional committees and contribute to outreach initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Ph.D. in Aeronautical Science, Aerospace Engineering, Unmanned Systems, Aviation Technology, or a closely related field.
  • A strong record of externally funded research and peer-reviewed publications in UAS operations, policy, safety, autonomy, human factors, or related areas.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
