The posting

Who We Are Club Athletic is a members’ training club in New York, Chicago and Hoboken. Our members work out in Squads: small, consistent groups that show up for each other. The connection doesn’t end when the session does. It carries into Club Night and Club Ritual every month, and into the capsule moments we build the year around, from our Black Tie Gala to the Summer Squad Games.

We have spent five years building Club Athletic into the gym and community people aspire to belong to, and everything we do is in service of that brand. Our members wear black, so the room reads as one and nobody arrives with a barrier to meeting someone new. Our marketing is consistent and we invest heavily in high-quality production because our core demographic, successful professionals aged 25 to 35 who are looking to broaden their circle, notices the difference. They hold everything we put in front of them to a high standard, and events are no exception. We are building the best fitness club in the country, and our events need to feel like it.

Our Events

Club Night is the monthly night we celebrate our members. We take over bars and venues that match the caliber of the brand so members can socialise together in a more natural setting than the training floor.

Club Ritual is our monthly wellness event. Historically we have bought out a bathhouse, brought in a DJ and built a wellness-themed party and experience around it.

Capsule events are the larger moments we build the calendar around include our Annual Black Tie Gala and Club Games.

The Role We want our events to feel as elevated and intentional as our training. We’re looking for a Freelance Event Producer to take Club Night, Club Ritual and our capsule events to the next level, and to make them the place every member wants to be. This is an opportunity to make sure the brand and the experience our members already know translate into events that are unmistakably Club Athletic.

You’ll shape each event from first idea to final follow-up. You think about how a night feels, not just how it looks, and you know the details are what make the difference. We’re looking for someone with energy, who can create and develop experiences that are unique to the brand and that measurably lift both brand value and how much our members enjoy being part of the Club.

What You’ll Do

  • Produce Club Night and Club Ritual each month, and lead our capsule events.
  • Design the full member experience: the invitation, the arrival, the flow of the night, the unexpected moments and the follow-up.
  • Keep every event true to the Club. You know what belongs and what doesn’t.
  • Draw on your NYC network to bring in the right partners for every event.
  • Own the commercials: build and manage event budgets, source and negotiate with vendors, manage contracts and report actuals against plan.
  • Run the details behind the scenes: timelines, budgets, run-of-show documents, contracts and contingency plans.
  • Notice what others miss, like music levels, lighting, signage, pacing and how the room looks on camera.
  • Keep us updated before we need to ask.
  • Liaise with local managers in Chicago and Hoboken as needed to keep events consistent across the Club.

You

  • Have a portfolio with a clear point of view. Restraint over trends.
  • Are based in New York and know the people who make it run.
  • Are organized, calm under pressure and deliver on time and on budget.
  • Bring a background in hospitality, members’ clubs, wellness or brand experiences.
