As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and Inclusion Lead to provide personalised support, helping to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where the pupil feels valued, safe, and encouraged to succeed. The role also involves support pupils who may experience challenges with emotional regulation, helping them to feel safe, calm, and ready to learn.

We are a welcoming and inclusive school with a strong commitment to supporting all learners. We value our support staff and are dedicated to developing their expertise through a supportive working environment and access to relevant CPD. This role is suitable for both experienced Teaching Assistants and those who are enthusiastic and passionate about beginning a career in education, particularly in supporting pupils with special educational needs.

The role is 5 days a week, 6 and a quarter hours a day, Monday - Friday, term time only.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support learning activities tailored to individual needs
  • Assist with routines, transitions, and behaviour management
  • Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a safe, supportive environment
  • Support social, emotional, and mental health development
  • Work closely with class teachers and SENCo to implement individual education plans
  • Monitor, record, and provide feedback on progress and engagement
  • Contribute to the wider school community

About You

  • A genuine passion for working with children, particularly those with additional needs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a calm, positive attitude
  • The ability to build supportive and trusting relationships with pupils
  • Flexibility and resilience in responding to individual needs
  • Previous experience in a school or SEN setting is desirable but not essential
  • A willingness to learn and develop professionally

What We Offer

  • A welcoming and inclusive school environment
  • Opportunities for training and career development
  • A supportive and collaborative staff team
  • The chance to make a meaningful difference in a child’s life

If you are committed to supporting young learners and want to be part of a nurturing and inspiring school community, we would love to hear from you and warmly welcome visits to the school prior to application.

The closing date is 17:00 on Monday 2nd November 2026 but we reserve the right to interview early should outstanding early applications be received. Otherwise, interviews are expected to take place on Monday 9th November 2026.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
