WE ARE HIRING – HEAD CHEF

Position: Head Chef Employment Type: Full-Time Industry: Food & Beverage / Restaurant

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all kitchen operations to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations.
  • Lead, supervise and coordinate the kitchen team, including Sous Chefs, chefs and kitchen assistants.
  • Plan and oversee food preparation, cooking and presentation according to restaurant standards.
  • Maintain consistency in food quality, taste, portioning and presentation across all menu items.
  • Develop new dishes, improve existing recipes and contribute to menu planning.
  • Manage food costs, kitchen budgets and wastage control.
  • Monitor inventory, stock levels, purchasing and supplier coordination.
  • Ensure proper food storage, handling, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
  • Establish and maintain standard operating procedures for kitchen operations.
  • Train, mentor and develop kitchen staff to maintain high performance standards.
  • Monitor kitchen productivity and ensure efficient manpower allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with restaurant management to improve operational efficiency and overall business performance.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in professional kitchen operations.
  • Previous experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef preferred.
  • Strong culinary skills and extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques.
  • Proven leadership and kitchen team management abilities.
  • Good understanding of food costing, inventory management and wastage control.
  • Experience in menu development and recipe standardisation.
  • Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to manage kitchen operations independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Responsible, disciplined and committed to maintaining high food quality standards.
  • Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
