LATERAL ENTRY LEAD PARAMEDIC TRAINEE

$ 28.00 hourly ($64,064 annually while in training)

$79,485 annually upon being credentialed for candidates with 18 months - 2 years’ experience

$81,874 annually upon being credentialed for candidates with 2 – 5 years’ experience

$84,345 annually upon being credentialed for candidates with more than 5 years’ experience

CIVIL SERVICE EXAM DATE: November 19, 2026 @ 6:30PM

Qualified Applicants must provide a valid email address and phone number to receive test notifications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 18- 43 years of age (cannot have reached 44th birthday by November 19, 2026)
  • Valid and Current Driver’s License
  • MUST be certified as a Paramedic on the date of application
  • MUST have worked at least 18 months as a Paramedic providing advanced emergency medical services outside of a hospital setting

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Successfully pass a written test, a physical assessment test, a background check, a polygraph examination, a psychological examination, an interview board and a medical / physical examination.

ADDITIONAL EXAM POINTS:

Additional maximum of five (5) points shall be added to a passing exam score as follows:

  • Military Veteran = Five (5) points with Honorable Discharge per DD214 Member-4
  • Must email a copy of DD214 Member 4 to [email protected] no later than November 18, 2026 @ 6:30PM. Submissions made after the deadline will not be accepted.
  • FWISD EMTs = Three (3) points for graduates of a Fort Worth ISD high school who also pass the EMT National Registry.
  • Must email a copy of FWISD transcript or diploma along with their National Registry number to [email protected] no later than November 18, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. Submissions made after the deadline will not be accepted.

NOTE: (1) The Civil Service Entry exam will be a live, in-person exam and qualified applicants will be required to report in person on their assigned location, date and time to take the exam.
