The posting

Position Summary: The Director, RTP Business Product Management is responsible for translating the RTP strategy into focused product plans, use cases, and market opportunities that drive customer value and network adoption. Reporting directly to the SVP, Head of RTP, this individual owns one or more defined RTP use cases and/or industry verticals and leads the work from market discovery through prioritization, launch and commercialization.

Working within a Pragmatic Product Management framework, the Director combines customer insight, market intelligence, payments expertise, data, and analytics to identify and validate problems worth solving. The role partners closely with other product leaders, while independently leading assigned opportunities and coordinating with Technical Product Management, Sales, Client Relationship Management, Marketing, Technology & Operations, Risk, Legal, Compliance, and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on product leader who can move from customer discovery to business case, roadmap, requirements, pilot, launch, and commercialization while maintaining a strong first-line risk mindset and clear accountability for measurable market outcomes.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Translate the RTP strategy into focused product plans and roadmaps for assigned use cases and/or industry verticals, grounded in validated customer and market needs.

• Own assigned opportunities through the product lifecycle, including discovery, business case development, detailed requirements, prioritization, pilot, and launch.

• Lead market discovery and customer engagement with financial institutions, corporate users, technology providers, fintechs, and other stakeholders to identify unmet needs, validate problems, and shape differentiated solutions.

• Develop clear product positioning, value propositions, launch approaches, and enablement for assigned use cases and verticals in partnership with Sales, Client Relationship Management, Marketing, and other commercialization partners.

• Use market, customer, product, volume, financial, and adoption data to recommend priorities, evaluate opportunities, monitor performance, and recommend actions that improve business outcomes.

• Partner closely with interdependent teams to ensure business requirements, customer needs, dependencies, and market priorities are clearly articulated and translated into high-quality solutions.

• Lead cross-functional product initiatives, pilots, proofs of concept, and launch-readiness activities, creating clarity on decisions, milestones, dependencies, risks, owners, and expected outcomes.

• Apply a first-line risk mindset throughout the product lifecycle, including rules definition, compliance, controls, and enforcement; partner with Legal, Risk, and Compliance to identify and address product and market risks.

• Track competitive, regulatory, technology, and industry developments affecting assigned use cases and verticals and translate relevant insights into product and commercialization recommendations.

• Contribute to a disciplined, market-driven product management culture focused on accountability, collaboration, customer outcomes, and measurable adoption.

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• 8+ years of progressive product management experience, preferably in payments, banking, fintech, or financial services, with demonstrated ownership of complex product or market initiatives.

• Strong understanding of payment products, operations, technology, and market dynamics; instant or faster payments experience strongly preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to conduct customer and market discovery, identify and validate needs, define product opportunities, build business cases, prioritize work, and translate strategy into executable plans and measurable outcomes.

• Strong analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to use customer, market, product, volume, revenue, and adoption data to make decisions and measure performance.

• Proven risk maturity to understand, articulate, manage, and mitigate product and market risks.

• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence across business, technical, customer, and senior leadership audiences.

Qualifications Desired:

• Knowledge of, or experience working within, the Pragmatic Product Management framework or a comparable market-driven product discipline.

• Experience leading a product, use case, or vertical from discovery and business case through launch, commercialization, adoption, and enhancement.

• Experience with product positioning, value propositions, and customer adoption strategies.

• Experience engaging financial institutions, corporate users, technology providers, fintechs, industry groups, or strategic partners.

• Experience translating industry or vertical-specific payment workflows into product opportunities and business cases.

• Strong working knowledge of product analytics, reporting, presentation, and collaboration tools.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. Candidates will report to the office three days each week. Occasional travel is expected.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
