The posting

The Dyrt is the largest digital camping platform in the world and is the only camping app with all camping locations in the U.S. Every second, a new user visits The Dyrt to access our community-driven campground information.

If you are a camper who loves the outdoors and want to be part of a fast-growing consumer app, you’re in the right place.

The Role:

24 hours/week | Monday–Wednesday

This role spans both of our frontend codebases, with the mobile app as the primary focus. Most of your time will be spent in our React Native codebase, on work ranging from highly interactive tools like our search page and Trip Planner to page performance on our campground listings. You will also regularly pick up work on our Next.js website.

AI-assisted development is a core part of how we work. Our engineering team uses Claude Code heavily for day-to-day development, and we expect you to be comfortable working this way: using agentic coding tools to move faster while applying your own judgment to review, refine, and take full ownership of the code that ships. This role is intentionally structured around a 3-day weekly operating cadence (Mon–Wed).

You'll be working on a team with 3-4 other frontend developers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in requirement analysis along with the team
  • Execute on new features and improvement projects in our React Native app
  • Contribute to feature work and improvements on our Next.js website alongside your mobile work
  • Translate comps and wireframes into component execution and delivery plans
  • Estimate complexity of tasks when new projects are brought to the team
  • Use Claude Code as part of your daily development workflow, and critically review all AI-generated code for correctness, performance, and maintainability before it ships

Experience & Requirements:

  • At least 4 years of professional experience developing with JavaScript and modern component-based frameworks, with React Native as your primary strength and working proficiency in ReactJS for the webReact Native (primary): Experience and an understanding of developing with and debugging React Native and the npm/package management React/Next.js web (secondary, but required): Comfortable building and maintaining production web features with React; Next.js experience (routing, SSR/SSG, performance) is a strong plus AI-assisted development: Hands-on experience with Claude Code or similar agentic coding tools (Cursor, Copilot, etc.). You are comfortable directing them effectively, validating their output, and knowing when to rely on them versus writing code yourself. We use Claude Code heavily, so direct experience with it is a strong plus Android app development: Some proficiency with Android App development and tools. Experience with the Google release process and setup of the Android Development Environment iOS app development: Some proficiency with iOS App development and tools. Experience with the Apple release process and setting up the iOS Development Environment which is a lot more involved than Android. Proficiency in Certificate management and renewals Bitrise: Familiarity with automated build systems such as Bitrise (or Jenkins) CSS: Experience doing UI work with CSS
  • Maintain and enhance existing code quality, organization, and automation
  • Have strong writing and communication skills for documenting technical requirements and coordinating with other teams
  • Identify and resolve performance concerns and look for opportunities to reduce technical debt
  • Experience with collaborative design tools such as Figma or Sketch

Extras:

  • Experience tailoring Claude Code to a team's workflow, such as CLAUDE.md conventions, custom skills/commands, or MCP integrations
  • Swift and Objective-C: For occasional work in iOS native code
  • Kotlin and Java: For occasional work in Android native code
  • Firebase: Experience using Google tools such as Remote Config and A/B tooling would help.
  • Sentry or Crashlytics: Experience debugging using external analytic tools
  • Experience with Bitrise/Jenkins/Codefresh
  • Experience with offline mobile functionality
  • Experience with elasticsearch
  • Can do performance tuning of app and database code
  • Ability to accurately estimate feature complete work including documentation and testing
  • Ability to validate timescales defined by a product owner

Working Here: With over 300M annual impressions, The Dyrt is the only camping app with all of the public and private campgrounds, RV parks, and free camping locations in the United States, along with millions of user-generated campground reviews. The Dyrt is also the #1 advertising platform for brands looking to get in front of campers in the US. The Dyrt works with companies like Toyota, T-mobile, Nature Bakery, and Smartwool, to help campers find their next adventure.

The Dyrt is built by campers, for campers. Whether you're new to the outdoors or have been sleeping under the stars for decades, what matters is that you share that passion. We pride ourselves on a team that is down-to-earth, driven to execute beyond expectations, and have a daily drive to win.

This is a part-time, remote position. Employees are expected to maintain high-speed internet and a professional working environment sufficient for clear video conferencing during standard working hours. Must work in a U.S. time zone. Our founders even work from their van.

The Dyrt is an equal opportunity workplace. We believe that the outdoors are for everyone, and are committed to building an inclusive platform and community that celebrates all people.

Interested candidates should submit a cover letter and resume.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
