The posting

Are you a law student interested in personal injury law and looking for an opportunity to gain meaningful, hands-on legal experience? The Flood Law Firm is offering a 12-week, paid Summer Law Clerk Program designed to give law students firsthand exposure to the practice of personal injury law within a busy, trial-focused firm.

As a Summer Law Clerk, you’ll work closely with experienced attorneys and legal professionals while contributing to real cases. You’ll gain insight into how personal injury matters progress from initial investigation and case development through settlement negotiations and litigation, while building practical research, writing, and case management skills along the way.

Throughout the summer, Law Clerks will have opportunities to learn from attorneys across the firm, observe different stages of the litigation process, and participate in professional development opportunities designed to provide a well-rounded introduction to the practice of law.

Requirements

Responsibilities may include:

  • Drafting legal documents such as complaints, motions, memoranda, and other case-related materials under attorney supervision.
  • Conducting legal research and preparing case law summaries to support attorneys with active matters.
  • Assisting with case preparation, including reviewing records, organizing case materials, and supporting discovery and litigation projects.
  • Observing client meetings, depositions, hearings, mediations, and other legal proceedings to gain firsthand experience.
  • Working alongside attorneys and paralegals on active cases and special legal projects.
  • Gaining exposure to case strategy, settlement negotiations, and the day-to-day management of personal injury matters.
  • Participating in legal training programs, professional development opportunities, CLE courses, firm events, and networking opportunities.
  • Collaborating with members of our legal team and gaining exposure to the different roles involved in moving a case from intake through resolution.

Qualifications:

  • Current law student in good academic standing.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism.
  • Genuine interest in personal injury law, litigation, and client advocacy.
  • Proactive, team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn, ask questions, and take on new challenges.

Benefits

Program Details:

  • Duration: 12 weeks, Summer 2027
  • Location: Glastonbury, CT
  • Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
  • Compensation: $23/hour

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
