The posting

We are seeking an aggressive, results-driven Outside Parts Sales Representative to join our growing Parts Department team at The Ford Store San Leandro. In this role, you will act as the face of our brand, hitting the road daily to build, maintain, and expand our wholesale parts business.

Your primary focus will be managing business-to-business (B2B) relationships with independent repair facilities, regional fleets, collision centers, and municipal accounts. If you have an entrepreneurial mindset, strong automotive parts knowledge, and a passion for hitting sales targets, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Territory Management: Visit established commercial accounts daily while systematically cold-calling and prospecting new repair shops and fleets to expand your territory.
  • Relationship Building: Act as a dedicated consultant to shop owners and service managers, ensuring our parts inventory satisfies their daily cycle times.
  • Technical Consultation: Assist customers with specialized parts identification, electronic catalog lookups, and order placements.
  • Problem Resolution: Resolve delivery bottlenecks, return discrepancies, and core management issues promptly to maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor competitor pricing, track market trends, and feedback field intelligence to the Parts Director to optimize inventory and promotional strategies.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of experience in automotive parts sales (outside sales preferred; high-performing dealership or retail parts counter experience will be considered).
  • Technical Savvy: Proficiency with Electronic Parts Catalogs (EPC) and dealer management systems (e.g. Reynolds & Reynolds, or proprietary wholesale portals).
  • Mobility: Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean, insurable driving record (a company vehicle or vehicle allowance will be provided).
  • Communication: Exceptional face-to-face communication, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally when handling parts drop-offs or core returns.

Benefits

  • Competitive Pay Structure: $35.00 per hour paid weekly plus a monthly commission tied to territory gross profit growth.
  • Health Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Retirement: 401(k) retirement plan with an employer matching contribution.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
