About this Role

It is an exciting time to join Glenvale! Having served the Wilby community for 170 years, we secured the opportunity to move into a fantastic, new, purpose-built school building on the Glenvale Park development. We moved to this new space in September 2024, and we are continuing to expand and grow.

We are proud of our school and community and all work together to provide the best foundations for our pupils. We are therefore excited to welcome a caring, passionate and professional Family Support Worker to our committed team.

This role presents a unique opportunity to help address the needs of our children and their families, to help overcome barriers to learning.

We are seeking someone who:

  • Is able to work collaboratively with various members of the school community, including agencies, school staff, child and parents, to be a pivotal supportive link to help overcome barriers to learning
  • Understands the importance of Child Protection and is committed to the safeguarding of children’s welfare- both at home and in school.
  • Is able to promote an effective relationship between home and school life, for both children and parents.
  • Has knowledge and awareness of opportunities and resources to support children and families in need.
  • Is able to maintain effective and efficient lines of communication between various groups and organisations throughout the community, to ensure essential support is available for families
  • Has an understanding of procedures and systems involved in the role, including Social Services, Child Protection, Education Welfare Service policies and Reporting standards.
  • Maintains an approachable, controlled and focused manner throughout their work, to relay both a positive and optimistic attitude to support those in challenging situations. Oftentimes the role may involve the ability to deal with a wide-ranging audience on challenging issues
  • Has previous experience of working with children and their families
  • Ability to work effectively, flexibly and independently, with willingness to show initiative and strong interpersonal skills
  • Is keen to support the ethos of a Church school.

In return, we will offer:

  • A supportive environment where everyone is valued
  • Happy and motivated children who are eager to learn
  • A fantastic opportunity to develop your career within a school and Trust that is focused on personal and professional growth and development
  • Access to a wide array of employee benefits and recognition systems via our partnership with Perkbox

If you would like to work in a safe, inclusive and harmonious environment where all of our pupils feel empowered and aspire to excellence, then we would like to hear from you - don't hesitate and apply today! Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and strongly encouraged - please call us on 01933 276491 to arrange your visit.

Please note CVs will not be accepted and Application Forms should be completed in full. Any gaps in employment must be identified and justified. Our school is committed to the protection and safety of all its pupils and staff and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All posts are subject to enhanced DBS clearance. We reserve the right to close this advert early should we receive sufficient and suitable applications.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.
