The posting

Company:

Marsh

Description:

Marsh is seeking motivated students to join our Summer 2027 Investment Analyst Internship in Boston.

As a summer intern, you’ll participate in the Investment Analyst Academy, our structured early-career development experience designed to introduce students to investment consulting and prepare them for future opportunities as Investment Analysts.

Over 10 weeks, you’ll combine structured learning with live training, investment simulations, case studies, shadowing, mentorship, and networking with investment professionals across the firm.

What You’ll Experience

During the internship, you will:

  • Participate in live training on investment markets, portfolio construction, manager research, performance and risk, and investment consulting
  • Complete investment simulations and case studies designed to develop analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Shadow investment professionals and learn how our teams support institutional clients
  • Gain exposure to Investment Advisory and OCIO Consulting across various segments including Defined Contribution, Defined Benefit, Insurance, Health Care, and Endowments & Foundations
  • Learn directly from investment professionals and subject-matter experts
  • Develop analytical, communication, and presentation skills
  • Receive ongoing coaching, mentorship, and feedback
  • Build relationships with fellow interns, analysts, and colleagues across the firm

The internship emphasizes learning and development. Interns will primarily participate in training, simulations, case studies, and shadowing.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for students who demonstrate:

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Intellectual curiosity and an interest in investments and financial markets
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to analyze information, identify key insights, and communicate them clearly
  • Attention to detail and sound judgment
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with others
  • Initiative, adaptability, and a willingness to learn

Previous investment-industry experience is not required. We welcome candidates from a variety of academic backgrounds who are interested in investments, markets, and solving complex problems.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree, Master of Finance (MFin), or other relevant business related degree
  • Expected graduation date of Fall 2027 or Spring 2028
  • Strong academic record
  • Available to work in Boston for the full 10-week program (June 7th – August 13th 2027)
  • Permanent, ongoing U.S. work authorization without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.

Compensation

Interns will earn $27 per hour and receive a housing bonus to help offset housing and commute expenses associated with participating in the Boston-based program.

Additional information regarding the housing bonus will be provided during the selection process.

Future Full-Time Opportunities

The Summer Investment Analyst Internship is designed to help build our future Investment Analyst talent pipeline.

Strong-performing interns may be considered for future full-time Investment Analyst opportunities in 2028 based on individual performance and business needs.

Because future full-time opportunities may be available across multiple U.S. offices, applicants will be asked to rank their top three preferred U.S. office locations for a future full-time role.

Location preferences will be considered alongside business and staffing needs and do not guarantee placement in a particular office.

WHAT’S NEXT?

Candidates must apply by submitting an application on our website. Selected candidates will be invited to complete a first round digital interview via the Phenom video interview platform. Video interview submissions are due no later than December 31st 2026. You will be contacted if you are selected to participate in final round interviews on target to take place in January. Final round interviews will be focused on analytical thinking, communication, collaboration, learning agility, and interest in investment consulting.

We encourage students to apply even if they have not previously worked in investments. We are looking for candidates with the curiosity, foundational skills, and potential to develop into successful investment professionals.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
