Legal Assistant | Personal Injury & Truck Crash Litigation Law Firm for Truck Safety Location: Casper, WY Full-Time, (Part-Time Considered) $20 – $28 per hour, (based on experience)
We are looking for an organized, detail-oriented legal assistant who wants to be part of a mission-driven trial team.
The Firm The Law Firm for Truck Safety is a nationally recognized law firm dedicated exclusively to representing victims of catastrophic truck crashes. Our attorneys are leaders in trucking litigation, and many hold commercial driver’s licenses (CDLs) and board certifications in Truck Accident Law. Our mission extends beyond the courtroom. We work alongside clients, lawmakers, and industry leaders to push for meaningful trucking safety reforms and prevent future tragedies. Through legal excellence and industry advocacy, we help families rebuild after devastating crashes and work toward a safer future on our roads.
The Role As a Legal Assistant, you will work closely with our Managing Partner, attorneys, and paralegals on our Wyoming and Colorado litigation team. You will play an important part in the day-to-day coordination of complex personal injury cases, including direct assistance to the Managing Partner and paralegals, document preparation, case organization, records management, scheduling, social media, community outreach, and tracking key deadlines across active litigation matters. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment. You enjoy working collaboratively, and you can take ownership of tasks and move them forward independently. This is based in Casper, WY. Candidates must be available to work regular hours aligned with the Mountain time zone.
What You Would Earn The position pays $20 – $28 per hour, depending on experience. Full-time is preferred, though part-time candidates will be considered.
The Work Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: Assisting the Managing Partner with scheduling, calendaring, and management tasks Assisting the senior paralegal with ongoing case management tasks Organizing, managing, and maintaining electronic case files and related documents Drafting, revising, and formatting legal documents and correspondence using Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and other digital tools Scheduling and coordinating meetings, depositions, and other legal proceedings Tracking deadlines, follow-ups, and action items across case files Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel as needed Ordering and tracking medical records and related documentation Performing quality checks on documents, filings, and case entries Helping ensure timely responses to subpoenas and discovery requests Assisting with the preparation of trial notebooks and exhibits Collaborating with internal teams to keep projects and case milestones on track
About You At minimum, this means: An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (equivalent experience considered) At least two years of experience working in a law firm or legal department Proficiency with Microsoft 365, particularly Outlook, Word, and Teams Proficiency with PDF editing software, such as Adobe Acrobat Pro or equivalent Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism Familiarity with legal procedures and terminology
The following are a real plus: Experience supporting litigation Experience with Clio or comparable legal software Experience with AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude Experience with social media platforms Experience in personal injury or truck accident litigation
