As a Registered Nurse, you’ll play an important role in helping residents live well while growing your own skills and career in an award-winning organization.
This is a part-time opportunity designed with flexibility and work-life balance in mind. We offer 8-hour shift scheduling options across first, second, and third shifts, giving you the flexibility to find a schedule that works for you while making a meaningful impact.
Shift & Weekend Differentials: Eligible shifts receive an additional $2/hour for second shift and $4/hour for overnight shifts. An additional $1/hour weekend differential is available for eligible weekend shifts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Follows policies and practices to ensure consistency with current standards promulgated by appropriate local, state, and federal regulatory bodies and within limits of the respective State Nurse Practice Act.
- Is competent in acting in emergency situations based on Safety Manual, Internal and External Emergency Preparedness and other policies.
- Complies with Mather Code of Conduct, Policies, Compliance Program, and all applicable laws and regulations in performance of one’s job duties; reports all known and suspected violations to his/her supervisor or manager, Mather Compliance officer, a Human Resources representative, or the confidential employee helpline.
- Identifies areas for improvement, proposes possible solutions, and participates in data collection and process changes as part of the Quality Assurance Process Improvement process.
- Assesses each resident’s physical, psychosocial, environmental, spiritual, cultural, educational and discharge planning needs, as appropriate.
- Participates in the establishment of desired outcomes with resident, family, and interdisciplinary team.
- Participates in the development of a care plan/service plan.
- Delegates tasks based on resident need and according to knowledge and skill of the designated caregiver.
- Performs personal care for residents, as needed, i.e. toileting, bathing, etc.
- Documents nursing care per documentation policy and standards.
- Applies the concepts of the Mather Wellness Model and the 3 A’s in the care of residents, Achievement, Autonomy, and Affiliation.
- Assists in licensing and survey preparedness and processes.
- Uses a customer-focused approach to problem solving philosophy.
- Maintains a courteous and professional manner through interactions with others.
- Communicates with residents and families in a timely manner.
- Uses discretion in handling confidential information, incorporating all Federal, State and local privacy and confidentiality requirements.
- Provides input for all relevant human resource functions including but not limited to: hiring and retention.
- Responsible for upholding resident rights.
- Participates in resident and family education and counseling.
- Interactions with employees, residents, resident representatives, and guests will reflect our commitment to inclusivity.
- Demonstrates understanding of and commitment to the company Mission, Core Values, and Nextraordinary philosophy.
- Create exceptional experiences for internal and external customers in every interaction.
- Operates efficiently within established parameters to maximize available resources.
- Participates in sales and promotion of the community.

- Participates in orientation of new employees.
- Attends/participates in care center meetings, in-services and committee meetings.
- Increases personal growth and development through formal and informal education programs.
- Facilitates teamwork between functional departments to promote effective operations.
- Participates in employee wellness opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Required:
- Current state RN license.
- Good clinical assessment skills and technical knowledge.
- CPR/AED certification
Preferred:
- 1+ years' experience in skilled Nursing setting.
- Supervisory/leadership experience.
- Basic computer knowledge.
The hourly base wage range provided is a good faith estimate of what Mather reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of the posting. The actual hourly rate offered will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to relevant skills, certifications, years of experience, geographic location, and current market conditions. This position may be eligible to participate in Mather’s benefit plan and the Team Member Appreciation Fund, if applicable. Eligibility for benefits is dependent on employment status and hours worked per pay period. $38—$42 USD

The Mather is a Life Plan Community for those age 62 and better located in Evanston, Illinois, close to the charming downtown district and an abundance of public transportation. The Mather includes 240 independent living apartment homes, as well as assisted living, memory care, long-term care, and rehabilitation services, along with multiple restaurants, a fitness center, art studio, gardens, and more.
