Manager, Programs The University of Miami/UHealth department of SCCC has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Manager, Programs to work Hybrid in Miami, FL. The Manager, Programs oversees and coordinates the day-to-day operations of the assigned University programs in accordance with the institution’s academic and strategic missions. The incumbent operates with the goal of delivering high quality programs to the University faculty and staff and other key stakeholders. Furthermore, the Manager, Programs provides guidance and mentorship to program staff to encourage talent development.

  • Plans, implements, evaluates, and monitors multiple programs.
  • Implements project plans related to the delivery of new and on-going programs.
  • Works with internal stakeholders so that the program runs efficient and effectively.
  • Evaluates and measures the effectiveness of assigned programs.
  • Ensures that operations are managed within authorized budgets.
  • Collects, manages, and reports program data.
  • Develops and cultivates relationships and partnerships with various external entities and organizations to further department functions.
  • Recruits, supervises, evaluates, and disciplines department staff to ensure optimum performance.
  • Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

Department Specific Functions

  • Establishes study-related best practices, scientific guidelines and regulatory compliance.
  • Leads protocol implementation, ensuring adherence to study, recruitment and retention timelines and milestones while keeping investigators informed of progress through regular updates and scheduled reporting.
  • Identifies and addresses ethical conflicts, consulting the Institutional Review Board and ethical committees as needed.
  • Maintains required certifications and training in research ethics, safety, and best practices.
  • Coordinates and participates in research team meetings, manages site visits, and ensures effective communication.
  • Establishes and maintains effective communication with research scholar grant investigators to support research initiatives, collaboration, and knowledge dissemination.
  • Designs, manages, and optimizes data management databases (e.g., REDCap) for secure data entry, validation, and reporting.
  • Scheduling and coordinating Community Advisory Panel (CAP) meetings and assisting in managing pilot award competitions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the subaward investigators and provide necessary support.
  • Assist the PI in preparing IRB, sponsor, and regulatory compliance reports
  • Serve as a liaison for study personnel and the various transdisciplinary teams at our performance sites.
  • Under the supervision of the PI, the program manager will coordinate colloquia, seminars, linkages to shared resources/cores, pilot project reviews and awards, as well as the dissemination of center contributions to academic and community audiences.
  • Maintain quality control of study data collection, and data entry. This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as necessary. CORE QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Operational Management: Optimizes day-to-day operations and processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Organizational Development: Ability to implement strategies to improve organizational effectiveness, engagement, and manage change.
  • Financial Oversight: Knowledge of financial operations and management.
  • Team Leadership: Ability to create and maintain a cohesive and productive team environment, build positive working relationships and work collaboratively with others.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey ideas clearly and persuasively.
