STUDIO MANAGER

Position Overview

The Studio Manager is responsible for the continued growth, performance and culture of FS8, with a strong focus on creating a community-led, high-performing and welcoming studio environment.

This is a hands-on leadership role combining studio operations, team leadership, client management, business development, training, community engagement, marketing and partnerships.

The Manager will oversee the day-to-day running of the studio, lead and develop the trainer and front-of-house team, deliver exceptional client experiences, drive membership and revenue growth, and ensure the studio is maintained to the highest operational and presentation standards.

A key component of the role is being visible on the studio floor and building genuine relationships with clients. The Manager will deliver approximately 12 hours of client-facing training per week, using this time to support client development, understand member needs, build relationships and strengthen the overall studio experience.

The successful candidate will be creative, energetic, organised and commercially minded, with a genuine passion for fitness and community. They will be expected to identify opportunities, develop new initiatives and help establish FS8 as a community studio — not simply a place where people come to take a class.

Formal FS8 brand and methodology training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

1. Studio & Operational Management

  • Take overall responsibility for the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of the studio.
  • Manage studio opening and closing procedures, class set-up and pack-down, reception and front-of-house standards.
  • Oversee trainer schedules, cover requirements and studio timetable requirements.
  • Ensure all classes are adequately staffed and delivered to FS8 standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, safe and welcoming studio environment at all times.
  • Conduct regular checks of reformers, equipment, furniture and studio facilities.
  • Identify maintenance requirements and coordinate repairs or servicing where required.
  • Ensure equipment is appropriately maintained and reported when issues arise.
  • Manage studio supplies, stock and operational requirements.
  • Develop and maintain effective operational procedures and checklists.
  • Ensure all studio policies, procedures and brand standards are followed.
  • Monitor studio KPIs and use data to identify opportunities to improve performance.

2. Team Leadership & Staff Development

  • Lead, support and develop the studio team.
  • Work closely with trainers to ensure consistent delivery of the FS8 experience and methodology.
  • Support trainer onboarding, training and development.
  • Provide regular feedback and coaching to team members.
  • Assist with trainer scheduling, cover and performance management.
  • Create a positive, collaborative and accountable team culture.
  • Identify opportunities to improve team performance and client experience.
  • Encourage trainers to actively participate in studio community initiatives and events.
  • Work with senior FS8 leadership on trainer development and ongoing education.

3. Client Training & Experience

The Manager will remain an active part of the studio floor and will deliver approximately 12 hours of client-facing training per week.

Responsibilities include:

  • Deliver high-quality FS8 classes in accordance with FS8 methodology and standards.
  • Build strong relationships with clients through regular interaction and coaching.
  • Understand individual client goals, motivations and challenges.
  • Provide appropriate guidance and recommendations to support client progression.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the client journey and overall studio experience.
  • Welcome new clients and help them feel comfortable and connected to the studio.
  • Recognise regular clients and create a personalised experience.
  • Proactively identify clients who may need additional support, encouragement or follow-up.
  • Encourage consistency, progression and long-term engagement.
  • Gather client feedback and turn it into actionable improvements.

4. Client Management & Communication

The Manager will take ownership of the client relationship beyond the studio floor.

  • Respond promptly and professionally to client enquiries across all communication channels.
  • Manage client communication through Mindbody, Loyalsnap, WhatsApp, email and other relevant platforms. This includes weekly emails, promotion development and our corporate engagement.
  • Ensure leads and enquiries are followed up consistently and professionally.
  • Maintain accurate client records and notes within the client management system.
  • Monitor client attendance, engagement and purchasing behaviour.
  • Identify clients at risk of becoming inactive and implement appropriate re-engagement strategies.
  • Manage membership renewals, upgrades and conversions.
  • Communicate promotions, programs, events and studio initiatives.
  • Develop personalised client outreach where appropriate.
  • Ensure clients receive a high level of communication before, during and after their studio journey.

5. Mindbody & Client Management Systems

Take responsibility for the effective use and administration of Mindbody and associated client management systems.

This includes:

Responsibilities include:

  • Respond promptly and professionally to all enquiries.

7. Community Development

A core objective of this role is to build FS8 into a community studio.

  • Developing social and wellness activities outside regular classes.
  • Encouraging trainers to actively engage with the studio community.
  • Creating initiatives that make clients feel recognised and valued.
  • Building relationships with local businesses and the wider MBFC community.
  • Identifying opportunities to make FS8 a destination within the local corporate and fitness community.

The goal is to create a studio where clients don't simply attend classes — they feel that they belong.

8. Studio Events, Celebrations & Initiatives

The Manager will be responsible for developing and executing initiatives that drive engagement and create memorable studio experiences.

Examples may include:

  • Member appreciation events.
  • Studio anniversary celebrations.

11. Training & Development

We are building a community, not just running a studio.

This role is for someone who wants to take ownership, develop ideas, build relationships and make a visible impact on the growth and culture of the studio.

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
