Advanced Quality Engineer | Plainwell, MI

Salary Range: $84,000 - $124,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are working with companies in Plainwell that are adding Advanced Quality Engineers to their teams. These organizations value quality over speed in hiring. By connecting with us, you position yourself for opportunities that align with what you're looking for.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement advanced quality control plans and inspection methodologies.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action initiatives for complex quality issues.
  • Utilize statistical process control (SPC) and other analytical tools to monitor and improve product/process quality.
  • Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure quality is integrated throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities using methodologies like Six Sigma and Lean.
  • Conduct supplier quality assessments and manage supplier quality performance.
  • Develop and deliver quality training to manufacturing personnel.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of the Quality Management System (QMS).

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949).
  • Proficiency in core quality tools (e.g., FMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP/APQP, 8D problem solving).
  • ASQ certifications (e.g., CQE, CSSBB) preferred.

Bonus Qualifications

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
  • Experience with statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) for data analysis and interpretation
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards
  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
