Finishing Supervisor | Detroit, MI

Salary Range: $65,000 - $92,000 depending on experience

This posting covers Finishing Supervisor opportunities with manufacturers based in and around Detroit in Wayne County, within about 30 minutes of the city, including Hamtramck, Ferndale, Oak Park, and Grosse Pointe Park.

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across the Detroit area seeking Finishing Supervisors who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Usual Responsibilities

  • Track production metrics and report results to plant management.
  • Enforce safety rules and maintain a clean work area.
  • Resolve employee concerns and document performance issues.
  • Supervise finishing line staff and assign daily work assignments.
  • Monitor production schedules and adjust staffing to meet output targets.
  • Inspect finished parts for quality and conformance to specifications.
  • Train new employees on finishing equipment and safety procedures.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate maintenance repairs.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Knowledge of finishing processes such as coating, polishing, or deburring.
  • Ability to read work orders and production specifications.
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three or more years of experience in finishing or production operations.
  • Prior supervisory or team lead experience in manufacturing.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Associate degree in manufacturing or a related field.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methods.
  • Familiarity with quality systems such as ISO 9001.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish.
  • Forklift certification.
