Production Supervisor | Marquette, MI

Salary Range: $67,000 - $95,000 depending on experience

This posting covers Production Supervisor opportunities with manufacturers based in and around Marquette in Marquette County, within about 45 minutes of the city, including Gwinn, Ishpeming, Negaunee, and K. I. Sawyer.

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across the Marquette area seeking Production Supervisors who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Usual Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot equipment and process problems with maintenance and quality.
  • Track scrap, downtime, and labor hours and report results to management.
  • Coach operators on standard work and correct performance issues.
  • Complete shift handoff notes and production paperwork.
  • Support audits and continuous improvement projects.
  • Open the shift by reviewing production schedules and staffing needs.
  • Assign work to line operators and monitor output against targets.
  • Walk the floor to check safety practices and address hazards.

Recommended Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • to 5 years of production or line lead experience in manufacturing.
  • Prior supervisory or team lead responsibility.
  • Working knowledge of lean tools and standard work.
  • Ability to read production schedules and basic quality data.
  • Strong communication skills with hourly and salaried staff.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Six Sigma or lean certification.
  • Associate or bachelor degree in business or operations.
  • Experience in automotive, food, or metal fabrication plants.
  • Familiarity with ERP or manufacturing execution systems.
  • Formal safety training such as OSHA 30.
